While this is a 'friendly reminder' why does this continue to be an issue here? Until a more organized forum is implemented this community area continues to be a dumping ground for everything from freebies to illnesses, deaths, celebrations, etc. It's been this way for over two years that I've come here.

Why can't people just enjoy the community and quit looking for errors in members who "post in the wrong section'. Their intention is to share whether it's a freebie, question, or personal...And I thought that's what this site was supposed to be about. Maybe I'm wrong???

Maryann, Clawton is only reminding those that a tutorial has been written my Marji (and blessed by Veronika) to place freebies in their appropriate section. That is why a freebie tab was created. Please don't be upset with Clawton. We are all trying to make this a more user friendly place and give those that want to post freebies a tab of their own.

Have a blessed day Maryann! :-)

Who said I was upset? What is wrong with this is no members should be sending 'reminders' to other members who are kind enough to share whether it's freebies or anything else.
Only the owner of the site should be 'reminding' a member if something is in the 'wrong section' or remove the post.

A select few members continue to 'friendly remind' new and OLD members where to post or not post and that is only for the owner to do.

And you too have a blessed day :-)

Maryanne, Veronika, the owner of this site, has 4 other websites, eBay and other businesses to run. She doesn't have the time to monitor every post in the Community. She set up the various tabs, and asked that people use them, and expected us to be adult enough to do that. There are always new members here, who do not understand fully how the site works, and the older, more experienced members try to tell them, and point them to the tutorials. Some people don't know how to navigate the tabs, some have thought that the 'freebie' tab was where you go to get free designs, etc. Veronika, the owner, asked me to write tutorials, and to help people use the site as it was set up. She has also encouraged those of us who are older members to help and remind the newer ones. This all took place probably before you came on board, I can see by the number of flowers that you are fairly new here. This decision was made because Veronika could spend all day reading, moving and deleting posts here in the community, and she has far too much other work to do, so we do this to help her out. I am glad of the sharing that goes on here, and most people understand there are categories for posts of different types. The system works well, and we're going to continue to educate people how to use it. We're just trying to keep it organized as it was set up, and reminders are a part of that. All communities have guidelines. Mrs. Smith at your church wouldn't give her new apple pie recipe to the congregation in the middle of the pastor's sermon, or during the treasurer's report, or the discussion of a new roof for the building. This community has places for things, and we have been asked by the owner to try and keep it organized, that's why this is being brought up again. Thanks for the cooperation you've given in helping to make this a success, and I hope you understand better now. Hugs, Marji

While your tutorials are appreciated, the changes you talk about have taken place since I've been here. And some of the older members are just a guilty of posting any and everything in the "Public" area. So don't tell me it's the 'newbies'.
Flowers don't mean squat about how long a person has 'been on board' nor do they impress.
The issue seems to be about 'freebies' being posted in the Public section. Why is this always such a big deal with some 'oldies' here? Instead of encouraging members to post and share, they are doing their best to intimidate.

Your example of Mrs. Smith is comical in that members who post in the 'wrong area' must be interrupting a certain few who police this Community.

Veronika is a very generous lady to share her site with everyone. And it's not a secret about how busy she must be. However until a more organized forum with a moderator, there will continue to be people innocently posting 'in the wrong area'. But ya know what? It's not the end of the world and the sun will still come up. :-)

We keep bringing the tutorial to the top, but it seems the same few aren't reading it. Maybe if we list the names of the Cuties, it might catch their attention?

I don't think it's up to members. I would think if the owner wasn't pleased with postings, she would delete them.

This is after all her site and she makes the rules.
