Glad you got it fixed! If this ever happens again, you can get the plastic off the head by taking the screw out. The screw is hidden by a little plastic circle that snaps out. This is on the flat part of the machine, on your left as you face the machine, 'around the corner' from the front. Just pop out the circle with your small screwdriver, and use a very long long screwdriver to take that screw out. It's a long one, too. Then you can take the plastic housing off and see exactly what's going on in there. I'm thinking these pictures should be in your manual, or your dealer should have given you a 'tour' of how to take apart, where to oil, etc. My Janome dealer offers 'machine care' classes with the tech, really nice stuff to know! Best of luck to you! Hugs, Marji
Glad to see you got it fixed. Patience is a virtue so they say! Love Chris
UPDATE: I did it, i fixed it and it is running!!
diddy dum....yeah i realized that i could gently pull the thread and turn the hand wheel backwards!!
so if you are ever there...
The only thing that I can think of is to cut the thread with very sharp long handled scissors - the type that have the flat base and the handles up high. Then with a long handled pair of tweezers pull the cut threads out bit by bit. It's a painstaking exercise - I've done it so I know. Hope someone else can come along with some ideas. Love and blessings Chris
i tried, but i just cant get to it.
so i was trying to get the cover off so that i could get a little closer. But it is a serious puzzle....I need a map to know which screws...
