The best of wishes to you in your search for moving to the US. Every part of the country is so different. We took a vacation last summer driving from the east coast to the west coast with a detour into Canada. It was so awesome seeing so many states.
It was so thoughtful of your husband to take you thread home!!! Now that is one special guy!!!
Good luck to you and family. If the Lord brings you this way then you will know that it was meant to be. I love being from the USA but have never known anything else. I was born and raised in Ga. but have traveled all over the USA. It is beautiful! The only other place I have ever wanted to live was/is in the mountains of Tn. Hugs and good luck, Linda
Having moved from the US to Canada in 2003, I know what you will be going through. Best of luck to you and your family. You will love the US... I sure do miss it.
Hope you come to Georgia. The economy is bad ever where, but I guess the trucks keep on rolling. Walmart has a distribution center just up the road from me in Monroe, Ga. They surly stay busy. Homes are cheaper now than they have been in a long time. I also understand that Florida, just below Georgia has had a real housing crisis. A lot of homes for sell cheap!
I'm in East TN at the foot of the Smokies. If you come this way, let us know! I bet you can find a cutie just about anywhere you move!!
You my dear, are in God's country! I came within a hair of buying a home in Wears Valley right before I got so sick 6 yrs. ago. Seiver County and the surrounding areas are the most beautiful places I have ever been. For many years, my son and I took our 3 weeks vacation a year in that area. We went in the spring, the summer and in the fall and I would be hard put to have to pick a favorite time of the year. I think the foliage is much prettier in the fall but I just love the area year round. If you don't mind me asking, where do you live? I actually met by best friend in the world in Pigeon Forge, many years ago when I was outside her Craft Store in a mini mall, waiting for my son to make his appearence so I could go in the store. I had 2 of my Pekingese with me. Cathy walked outside and told me I could bring the babies inside and she sat on the floor and played with them. The oldest, a male named Gizzy has been gone for almost 7 yrs. but the baby, a female named Bebe is still with me. Sadly, not for long but she is going on 15 and has had cancer for 4 years. My precious is not doing very well now but she is holding on for dear life. I now have a 4yr old(in April) that I found online at Petfinders.com in Sept of 2007. I fell in love with her the 1st time I saw her picture. She was outside of Chattanooga at Amyzark rescue. When I contacted Amy, I was told that she had been spoken for and that she was fixing to take her offline. I kept watching and she was only gone for a few days and was back online again. I then made another plea for her and was contacted by Amy and she told me that the person had backed out but she was not sure about me taking her home with another older female. I wrote her and asked her to reconsider and that my girl, Bebe, was one of the kindess and sweetest animals on this earth. Little did I know that Patty was a very wild child that had lost her human Mommy 7 months before and the family did not want her. She had become very aggresive at foster care with alot of larger and strange dogs that she had to compete with. I thanked her for her time with me and told her that I hoped that Patty would find a wondeful home and that I was happy for her if she had found a new mommy. In a couple of days, I got an email from Amy telling me that she had reconsidered and with our communication with other that she thought I might be the perfect new mommy for Patty, do you still want her? She sent me a phone # and I called her right that minute and went and got her on Sat. of the same week. I lived in Sandersville, Ga. at the time but moved the month after I got her to the Atlanta area. I had told Amy that I was moving before she okayed the adoption. I brought her home in Oct. of 2007 and she bit a hole through my finger right off the bat when I was giving her a treat. She was trying to get to it before my Bebe could get it. I picked her up and loved her and tryed to tell her that I would always have a treat for both of them. From that minute on, she has been the sweetest baby in the world. The 2 of them have never been play partners because of the age difference but they get along great. They will stop and swap feeding bowls in the middle of eating with no fuss at all. My Bebe tried to be the baby's mother at first but soon gave up. I am not looking for another little girl to be Patty's sister but will not bring another one in the house as long as Bebe is still here. She needs all the time I can spend with her right now. She is in the fight of her life to stay here with me but it will not be much longer. She is still the sweetest fur-baby I have ever had even though she is not well. She has such a gentle nature about her. I am a dog lover but I have also done rescue for many years until I could no longer take care of them. I have severe arthritis and have had for 17 years. Some days I can barely get out of bed B-U-T my girls keep me going at all times. They are what has saved my life and given me the will to fight the pain. I have been on meds for 17 yrs until last Dec. and I decided to stop every one of my perscriptions. The pain is much worse but I am making it without them and will for as long as I can stand it. Like I said, the girls keep me going even when I think that I can not!
I am really glad that I did not move to Tn now but I still love it as much as ever. Now, I need to be close to family and friends because of my health! My friend, Cathy is now back at home. She and her husband have moved several times with his job but he went back home to retire. They live in Ohio. We still communicate very often. Cathy is managing a nursing home. Yes, you truely live in the most beautiful place in the world! Hugs, Linda
The very best of luck to the both of you Louise. I hope things turn out like you want them to. *
Dear Louise,
Hope things work out the way that you'd like them to do. Moving to a new country is a huge adjustment for you and the family. If you're looking on the east coast in the Virginia area, that's where I live, and I certainly recommend this state, as it is lovely. Of course, any state will be wonderful once you're there. Please keep us updated on your plans.
Hugs,
Jacqueline
Thank you Jacqueline, i wiil keep everyone updated, because i am so excited. Louise
Dear Louise, I'm so happy for you! Hope everything works smoothly for you! It's a big move, but I'm sure you will love USA! I spent the best year of my life over there, in Minnesota. Wish I could go back there :)
I'm going to miss you though...
Love,
Yoriko
Oh Mary, how I miss MN, Brainerd, all those lakes and people!!! I have special feelings about America, I guess I left my heart over there! Love, Yoriko
Dear Yoriko, I will miss all my friends but just think of the holiday opportunities they can have. It will still be about 2years we think and will give it up to 5years before we say enough.
I will see you before we go anywhere.
Love Louise
