Made Christmas stockings for my gs preschool class, and the Mothers of the children appreciated them, but the children was more impressed with candies.

A handmade gift in todays society is much valued. You have carefully thought about what you are making then giving and done so with love AND it will be unique unlike anything you will buy

Pity you could not take a picture,
but never mind, when you have a camera, you can share your projects with us all.
I also try to put a home made gift, into the present. My friends and family, say they always love to see what I have been up to.
(they say it is very special - to have a hand made gift.)

Hugs Yvonne

If I don't give a handmade gift, I feel guilty! Everyone loves them :)

I know I am trying to start selling some of the things I make BUT it can never and will never replace the feeling I get from making things for my Grand daughters class. Nothing beats my daughter calling and telling me that the teachers or parents gave praises for what I made. I guess it comes down to we all want to be loved and accepted.

I have always loved anything hand made with the love of the giver. Maybe just me, but I don't think so.

When I was working full time, all the younger girls (by 30-40 years) all wanted to make their own hand knits like mine, so at lunch times we had knitting /crochet bees, where I taught nearly every single girl employed there (over 40 girls and 2 guys) how to do whichever craft they were most interested in.

It was so rewarding to see them progress, before I retired some of them were making fancy, lacy type crop jackets. Ah, the good old days!!! (heck was that only 6 years ago?????)

So glad you are being inspired by our Cute sisters, (and brothers) isn't it wonderful!!!
Hugs n roses, Meganne

Were they ever out of style? :-)

I usually have one year of home made gifts then two years of purchased gifts (Christmas) and by far the most appreciated gifts are the ones I have made. (thankfully!) LOLOL!!!

I made a bag. i had done a tote with simplicity pattern for myself recently, so i did a smaller version. I had wanted to do a crayon roll ITH, but couldn't work it, so i added an pocket band that ran the whole inside of the bag with the little pencil pockets. i embroidered the name and put trains (my son loves to go over and play with the 'real' model trains at his house).

meg they are never out of style in my family, they all want them every year. I never buy gifts for anything. I always make it. I have made things from wood slate material and various other things.

sounds great undecided LOL bags are always a hit am making my sister a book bag now, she just started law school so put the lady of justice on and using the tree of life font for her initials coming out great so far. lady was almost 40,000 stitches took a while just to get her done, now on to putting it together.
