My thread will nest under the bobbin plate when the top thread has jumped out of the looper, happens every time. All three machines!

Hope by now, all is well for you undecided. You had an abundence of answers & as some said, sometimes it's the design itself. As u have heard it can be a number of or combination of several things. *

My mechaanic told me this when I had the same problem, take the bobbin case out of the machine, run you finger very carefully around the inside of the bobin case and the outside, you are feeling for minute burrs in the bobbin case, these can be caused by the needle hitting the bobbin case at some time. If you can feel somthing, get a fine emery board and smooth the burr off very gently. If the burr is larger you will need to get a new bobbin case, or take it in for service and the mech will replace it. The burr causes the thread to catch and nest. Hope that helps a little Ruth

Cut away the threads and add another layer of stablizer. It usually works for me.

i purchased the set a designsbysick, and have sent an email asking for help

I will let you all know what they tell me.
guess i should have stitched out some of their free stuff first. i have grabbed a few freebies, but haven't had a project for them yet.

ok
took out that hoop and put on another and stitched a design that came with the machine with NO problem (same needle and thread etc)

sooooo i think it is the design.... anyone seen a set of freebies that was called "all aboard" a bunch of ships? i would like to contact the designer, to let them know and ask if there are special settings or materials

I had this happen to me last night twice, I cleaned, changed needles, and all it was the bobbin case was not sitting just right in the machine, on my singer their is a little latch on the side that has to be right next to the error that is on the base of the sewing machine. I did that and it is running great. The problem started when my bobbin was running out. I changed it and I was in a hurry and it not notice that the latch was not lined up with the error. Hope this helps, hang in there you will get it working. God bless

UPdate:
Still working on this,
reduced the speed of the machine, tightened the bobbin a smidge more and red. the top tension...so far i think it is helping, it has run for 4 minutes now!

I am wondering if it is a comb. of things--like maybe
grrrrrrr...just broke thread again :(

Do not tighten bobbin thread when the top thread is nesting underneath. if you have another frame stitch out another design using the same thread. if all goes well go back to your design that u have saved & noted the stitch number, forward to that number float more stabilizer underneath with machine slowed try again. Also check to see if the thread guide has a burr to catch the thread on. The other thing I have done is to unwind some cotton from my comb then rewind taking the twists out as this could be the problum.

I have found with my 300e that sometimes the thread doesn't catch in the top tension so when I have thread the machine I hold the thread up the top & the bottom & pull down tight. Double check your tenstion as when threading you can knock the tension wheel. Best of Luck *4u all

Sometimes I think the thread is old or brittle when you buy it. Did you try another color?

IHAVE A JENOME 350E .I CANT SEW WITH THE TOP THREAD IN THE DESIRED SLOT.I HAVE A TALL STAND TO THE RIGHT OF THE MACINE RIGHT NEXT TO THE WHEEL.THAT SOME TIMES HELP ,OR YOUR TENSION IS NOT RIGHT.WHEN I CLEAN OUT MY BOBBIN CASING I USEE A HAIRL DRYER TO BLOW OUT THINGS YOU CANT SEE BACK THERE THEN I VACUME,,SURE MAKES A BIG DIFFRENCE, EVEN THOUGH YOU STARTED WITH A NEW NEEDLE CHANGE IT ANYWAY IT COUL HAVE A FALT IN IT,,,MY THOUGHTS.. You could have thread caught in the tension mechanism..see if you can clean it out. Reset your bobbin, make sure it doesn't have anything caught in the shuttle.

mmmm..what is the tension mechanism you are referring to?

and where is the shuttle? i did take the bobbin and bobbin case out to clean--but it was not dirty.

it ses good when i firts start it back up, but then i start hearing the noise and sure enough it is pulling down way too much top thread

sewdoctor by sewdoctor 29 Mar 2010

Tension mechanism, where your thread goes through on top, so put tension on the thread so it isn't running freely. If it is nesting on the underside of your embroidery it is the top tension, unless your bobbin thread is getting tangled and pulling harder than it should. Are you winding your bobbins yourself or are you using prewounds? If you are doing yourself, make sure they are winding evenly, with nothing catching. If it is a prewound, make sure it is the right one for your machine, it should be a type L.
The shuttle is what goes around under the needleplate that picks up the thread making stitches. It is where the bobbin sits.

Switch to a different bobbin, change your needle, and take you machine apart( according to the manual) and clean the bobbin area. Get out your manual and make ABSOLUTELY sure that you are placing bobbin in correctly. I have found that most issues/problems I have are my own error.

i did take apart and clean the bobbin area--it did not look even a little dirty
