I have always used titanium needles and never had a problem.

Undecided u have a lot of pros & cons here so far so it will b up to you to choose. I have found that each machine seems to have a mind of it's own no matter what the make or model. We each have to experiment & see what works best for us. Choose what works best for you. *

I have 2 Brother embroidery machines, and they love Organ needles. I don't use Titanium needles because I don't like them. I keep trying, though!

A regular sewing needle is just that - a sewing needle. I suppose if you were hard up you could try and substitute one for embroidery, but I would not recommend it. As you know when sewing it is completely in your control. Machine embroidery is automated (pre-progranned) so the needle is made to withstand that type of stitching.
Personally I love Titanium needles.
Upon reading the earlier replies, I do not intend to argue the differences BUT only say that, my machine has handled a bent needle much better than a shattered, broken needle. I hope this has helped you.

I too have a brother machine and the Organ needles work well for me.

An embroidery needle has a larger eye, so that the delicate thread can slip through easier. I use organ needles all the time. I don't use titanium, as they don't break, but they will bend, and mess up the embroidery, sometimes causing holes.Sometimes it too will cause your machine to go out of time, or off center. I would rather the needle broke (but I do try to change it before it becomes worn and weak, or with barbs on it that will cause it to hit bluntly and break threads) than bend.

Titanium needles will break. I know from experience.
