What happen to "FREE" meaning "FREE"? I came across a site that says, "Important: You can add this design to order as free. Sorry, separately free without order design can not be loaded" ;D

I agree I do not bother with sites that say free and when you get there you have to purchase to get the design automatic close of site, then I usually will not return to site when I get another masseage of free don't want to waste my time going through all the trouble of looking at the site for nothing. I will say that I have purchased from sites that have given free designs and while there to DL the design I check out what else they have and they got me LOL had to purchase more, but telling me I have to purchase will not work just makes me not go to site anymore.

I agree with you completely. I will NOT buy from a site that I am not able to stitch out a sample design first...it's too much of a gamble on quality IMO. In the beginning I spent far to much money on designs that I'd never use again due to poor digitizing. JMHO ~Rita

Which ever way you look at it, it is still a free design. You only pay for one and get this one for nix.It might come with conditions, but it is still free. You are not paying for it.There are a lot of embroidery sites that have free designs with purchases, from time to time.I have one of those on my site at the moment.
A bonus design is not necessarily free. It could be at a reduced price, where as free is 100% free.

It should be called bonus design, I got one of those emails too, when I got to their website, it's free with some order :)

Is this perhaps the site that gave us a few free letters then changed the rules?

Yep free is free, with No conditions. The others should say as an added extra if you buy. Otherwise it is not free as you still have to pay for something to recieve the extra.
Free Means: something given or supplied without payment.

It happens all the time! Bad times, when the words don't mean the same for both sides!

email comes saying get this free design and I go to the site just to find out it is a free design with the purchase of the set.

Apparently it's a bonus design to go with an order, at least that's how I read it. Does not seem the best English to me, foreign site?
