I could cry. Tomorrow is a public hiloday, the Brother service centre is in Sydney, I have taken a week annual leave to embroider and now have no machine. Should have bought a Janome as we do have a serviceman here in Tamworth for that brand.

Any suggestions......

the only advice i know is sheck the bobbin holder. with the brother machines this holder has to be in good condition, so no restpieces of thread or dust in the bobbinholder, because this gives trouble.
hope you gat some advice if this isn't the case. hugs for now***

Gerry, The machine has gone back to Spotlight. I have asked for a replacement. This is the third time in One year.

Hope today is a better day for you. sounds like you have done all the right things to fix. I am so sorry for you. Maybe Brothers can tell you how to fix the problem and you can get back to sewing soon. Good Luck! Sara

It happened with my Inovis 900 (Brother) last week. But when I looked in the bobbin case it was a small "Fluffy". I took it off and seems normal right now!

Thank you, I have looked and cleaned, there is not a scrap of thread or fluff. It is in the mechanics and has now gone to Spotlight.

Surely there is a service agent at Newcastle or even Gosford.
I know the Husqvarna distributorship is based at Gosford and there is a really reputable machine repairer at Newcastle, either would be better than sending or travelling to Sydney.

Hugs n roses, Meganne

Yep, probably something small like that, I have taken a few plates off and cleaned all the fluff and lint out but the assembly does not want to move.

Our girl had to have the machine reset after the lint was removed

I am going to try and help you.See that your machine is switched off Look on the flyingwheel - there is a mark on it. Turn you wheel so that this is on the top - level with the machine.
Clean it well - give a drop off oil on the parts that move up and down and switch it on to see if the device is then fixed. I am a Brotherdealer - but can only try to help you at cutes questions, because I lives in South Africa.
Hope you get the problem solved.

Last time that happened to me it was from a bunch of thread wrapped up. But it was under the hoop and I had to cut the thread with a long thin knife to remove the thread. After the thread was removed the machine worked. It sounds like that is not your problem. Good luck!

Hi,
Here are a couple of ideas you can try. One make sure that there are no obstructions around the bobbin case,i.e. wads of thread and that your bobbin is seated correctly in the bobbin assembly.(if your bobbin can't turn neither can your wheel.)Secondly check on the bottom for a red reset button, a few embroidery machines were made with this for when the machine computer got overloaded or out of whack. Also check to make sure your needle is tight in its bracket, if the needle hits the bobbincase the wheel won't turn. Sometimes it is the simple silly stuff that can bind up a machine. Good luck.

Thank you Sue. No reset button. The bobbin case assembly will not move smoothly, Dogfootplate does not move up and down either.

When my safety device was activated, I made sure nothing was jammed, bobbin etc. Sometimes switching it off also helps. Sounds like a jam

Just a thought (ask me how I know) take a look at the wheel itself, mine has a cover than can be popped off. The wheel got a stray thread and wound itself tight! The dealer (was my face red) said check it first each time, if the wheel won't turn that is the first thing I check. Hope it helps.

Linda, have tried the wheel cover will not come off. Have vacuumed the machine and guess now if there is anythread jammed the tech will have to find it. Unfortunatley I bought this machine from SPotlight and we do not have a service agent or repair person here, Last time it had to go to Sydney and was away for 5 weeks.
Tomorrow will call brother and see if I can get permission for someone here to look at it.

I would call the Janome guy and ask him if he would mind taking a peek. It might be something nornal that is wrong and he may be able to fix it. Worth a phone call.

Hi This happened to me on my elegante. When I took it in it was a small computer tantrum the machine decided to throw. The service guy fixed it in about 10 minutes while I waited. Maybe if you are lucky it will be the same thing. Did you try to unplug it wait 10 minutes and plug it back in? Sometimes it resets itself. Wish you luck Suzanne

Suzanne,
thank you, yes I have turned it off and on again but the handwheel appears to be jammed. I unfortunately live in Tamworth and the service agent is in Sydney.
