2. Does anyone have a Brother Innovis900 that they can get to shir?? if so, i'd like to know what i am doing wrong :-(

Not sure about your model but I know I had to purchase a shirring foot for an older machine I have.
Smocking I know my baby lock has a smocking stitch. Check your owners manual or you might check the Brother site for info. Sara
