Have you ever had your machine give little loops of extra thread on the top? it's happening with satin/zigzag sts.

what adjustment would you make?
thanks

so i got my 100Organ needles today! and even using them it is doing it,although not as much--although i am using felt right now, and it usually does better with felt. even so there were still a couple little loops :(

i had hoped this would fix it.

O wonder if i replace that little black piece that the bobbin sits in? I still hear that bobbin getting noisy.

Are you using the Janome blue tipped #11 needle?
Always use a Janome or organ needle with you Janome.

And slow your machine right down when doing outline stitches.
Don't touch the tension screw on your bobbin case. Have your top tension set at 2.

the needle is relatively new and has happened with all needles, even as soon as they were put on.

but size...hmmmm, not sure about that.. i have used 70/10, 75/11, 90/14 all material types....

oh i have a janome 300e

i do have a net on the spool.

Oh, and here is the kicker, the back is PERFECT, grrrr...

I had that happen to mine on satin stitches only, especially doing a flag design, and the red color, not sure if that is related. I used a thread wrap of sorts(piece of vinyl cut to wrap the spool) to help tame it, but seems like there were times it was jumping off the spool, if that makes sense. It didnt' happen on my white thread of the flag.

This can be that the needle is blunt or slightly damaged from age,not inserted properly or too small for the thread. Machine may need oiling,or there may be thread remnants somewhere in the machine,or lint somewhere, You did not say what type of machine you have, if it is a Pffaf 2040 or similar you may need to recalibrate the screen. Hope one of these are the problem. regards Penny

You might check your bobbin and make sure it is in correctly and then check to see if it wound correctly. Did you change your tension or anything make sure the upper thread is threaded correctly. I hope this helps. Have you for any reason changed the tension on your bobbin. Very rarely do you have to change the bobbin tension, usually I only have to change the tension on the upper thread. If this doesn't work maybe someone will come along with another idea. Sara
