Funny, I had problems with my Janome 9700 and it was gone for almost 6 weeks. In the meantime I bought a Brother PR600II. I am so happy with it.

Dont get me wrong I love my Brother but I think htere is something wrong with the model 1200. my Janome sewing machine has never missed a stitch in 15 years.

Brothers do have some plastic gears so did you know that if you live in a very hot climate that those gears will warp causing problems that just seem to add up over time, you will love the MB4!!! I have yet to own one but use it everytime I visit my dealer one of these days though, but for now, it is my little MC350e HA!!

Yep, things are made more of plastic these days, including the cars we drive.

I am in South Africa and had trouble with my Brother tension and had the same trouble where time means nothing - thank goodness I had a back-up of my Bernina or else I would have been climbing the walls Jillian
