I've been having nightmares about the damage these stinking things are doing to Ray's house.

The stupid thing is the pest control booked our INSPECTION for the 28th, which is 3 weeks from when we first discovered them and I'm stressing out just thinking about the damage they could do in that time.

I can't think about anything else, I can't concentrate even and all I'm doing is walking round the house like some zombie, scratching the imaginary bugs crawling all over me.

Anyway I just phoned the pest control company and begged them to come sooner because we already KNOW we have them, so the inspection is mute at this point, we need the treatment started straight away.

I'm now waiting for a phone call to tell me when they can come.

I know this isn't life threatening or anything, but it is "quality of life" threatening as we have been planning Ray's retirement in October and our move back to my home as soon as possible after that. Now he may have to keep working to pay for the repairs to his house, which will have to be carried out while we are still living here.

Ray already has heart problems and I just want him to retire and learn the joy of living in a smog free, industry free, holiday area that has a more relaxed lifestyle.

Like so many men he has worked, non-stop, for 50 years, he has never known anything BUT work, sometimes working two jobs and now he is working double shifts, which I think is too much at his age. He deserves to have something better and I want us to have more time together.

Sorry I'm prattling, it is rare for something to upset me this much, I guess I just see all our plans fading away and spending the rest of our lives here in a place I loathe being.

OK, I needed to get that off my chest, thanks for always being there my Cute sisters, I really appreciate having friends to talk to.

Hugs n love, Meg

Meganne, You need to remember that the house is a material thing. I do know how much you are worrying and that is not good for you at all! It can be fixed although it may take time and money to do so. What you need to remember is that you are a survivor and you have proven that over the last few years! You have been through and come out on top of the most important battle of you life.
Yes, I know that your home is probably one of the most important things that we own, take care of, enjoy our lives in, but it is not worth you risking your health worrying about.
I spend everyday worrying about everything and it has done nothing but made me old and I have not been able to fix a thing that is broken: not any of the problems have gotten better by worrying.
We here at Cute all love you and we do not want to see you stress yourself about something you did not cause and cannot help. Worry will tear your world apart if you let it. If you could fix it by stressing about it would be different but in the long run your faith and your strong sense of family and friends and the Lord should be what will keep you calm and help see you through this mess.
STRESS will tear down you mind, body and soul if you give into it. I know this first hand. I must be the world's worst worrier and with all of it, worry has never helped or fixed anything. My prayers go out to You and Ray and I hope you get through this with minimal amout of expense and worry. Now is the time in your life that you should be celebrating life and enjoying all that you have worked and fought for so long. Meganne, excess worry will destroy you if you let it. I have to remind myself everyday of that very thing!!! Hugs, prayers and good wishes!

Thanks Linda, I think it's because it is out of my control that upsets me so much.
Having to wait for someone else to come and fix it, is the worst worry, what do they care how much more damage is done while they make us wait to treat it?

It's just one thing after another and it all costs money that Ray has to work to earn and I worry about him so much.

Never mind, I'll get myself settled once I know how much damage has been done and we can start fixing it.
Thanks for the good advice.
hugs n blessings, Meg

sorry my telling you about getting in touch with your insurance company was meant to be here.
some insurance companys pay out for the most strangest things , believe me. try it any way.
they may pay for all the damage best of luck.

Yes, I never even thought to check the insurance coverage, but I would think it highly unlikely they will cover termite damage, still, I'll check it out.
Thanks n hugs, Meg

Just keep the faith. Sometimes God puts us to a test I believe. We took a leap of faith and moved 30 miles and bought a new house thinking that our old house would sell in a few months. Well it has been 2+yrs and it still hasn't sold. Who knew that the housing market would take a tumble and things would sit still for such a long time. I am praying that things will turn soon for you and for us. I just keep praying that it will. God Bless you and remember keep the faith. Sara

What can I say? You have shared the hopes of so many of us.
God has a plan for you, but it may be something you may not understand for a while.
I will pray for you in this circumstance and pray that God gives you strength and calmness to endure this trial.
So sorry that things are not going well.
Love and hugs to you and Ray, Meg.

I hope they can schedule you in very soon. It must be horrible to know those things are gnawing away at everything that comes within reach. I'm so sorry this will upset all plans you made for the foreseeable future. After all the upheaval your health has caused you'll want to be in calmer waters!!
You know you can prattle as much as you want, we are listening. And praying. HNR, Martine.

Oh MY. This is so sad for the both of you. I do hope Ray can somehow manange to still get to retire this year, why not tell those pesty little things they won't beat you? Try to remember that it is only material things they are destroying, so don't let it get to your life so much. Let 'em eat now for tomorrow they will DIE....the damage is already done, so at least finding them now is better than not finding them untill much later...Come on Megzee cheer up sweetie..love Kerry

Hi Meganne, I agree with Kerry as it is only material but that does have a bearing on your quality of life. Maybe if the pest control people can come sooner rather than later it will help your mind set. Hugs Sally
