Video was very interesting. However DO NOT use a screwdriver to tighten your hoop as this might damage hoop or BREAK it.(Been there done that)An expensive lesson.

You'd need to have shares in the tape manufacturing company! LOL!!!

I have stitched out as many as 10 2.5" FSL Breast Cancer ornament covers in one hooping without going to any of this fuss. Also stitched 7 FSL Bookmarks in another single hooping. (see below) No puckering there.

The trick is to use medium weight, fabric type, WSS, place the first sheet vertically and the next sheet horizontally in your hoop, making sure both sheets a taught and your hoop is screwed up tightly. Use a new needle, good quality thread and reduced machine speed.

This never fails for me.

insteat of tape I use anti slip what we use for camping. You can easely remove ore replace and it is cheap. For the rest i do the same as you. Greetings Yvonne

They were gifts to breast cancer survivors from http://www.juliesembroideryantics...
To the best of my knowledge, you can purchase the rest of the set, but not these particular ones.
You might try writing to Julie if you do any breast cancer fundraising or know a bc survivor you want to make one for and she may give it to you but I really can't say as it was last year that I got the design.

That was very interesting - thank you for sharing!! I use painters tape which is more expensive than masking - I guess I need to pick up some masking tape too!

I have been told about making a templete but using a basting stitch not tape to hold in place, looks like a lot of masking tape LOL but it must keep it really tight and I would think it would work better when you are stitching more than 1 design at a time. I have never tried doing more than 1 at a time since the pull of the stitches would be to much on just wss, thank you for the link

I have done this with small redwork designs (4 x 4)- but I baste the fabric to the cutaway. The tape looks as though it would hold it firmer. Recently made a colour in book with outlines and used cutaway stabilizer for the book fabric. If I need any stabilizer under I just slide a piece under the hoop. Great idea and really faster when using it for smaller items to save rehooping all the time. Just undo the basting stitches and then add your next piece and it is done.

Interresting. I noticed she only used one layer of WSS. I had always used 2. Looks like a time saver. I will try it sometimes. Thanks for sharing
