This quilt is lovely and bright and I'm sure Mum will appreciate it.

I put on my mum's quilt - "To my mother, my friend, from your daughter, your friend". I am sure there are other lovely words of encouragement you could use as well.

There is site on the web which has beautiful sayings and for the life of me I can't remember, maybe some of the other Cuties can. I seem to recall they were Christian sayings.

I hope you get it finished soon and I'd love to see the final quilt.

That is a good idea - using something simple, since you have several colors. You stick with it and you will have it done in no time.
