the different brands. he then decides that the best one is the HQ Avante 18 which is to die for. The lady selling them here wavies the shipping fees (about $400) if you order while she is in Paduka for the quilt show (which he did!) Then in going on line myself I see the Gammil 18 for $1500 less. Now the HQ has a built in stitch regulator, touch pad, front and rear handles and a super frame. The gammil has the frame but no touch screen and no stitch regulator. Any suggestions on which one?????? Now I'm also left with my current quilting frame and Juki setup which I will need to sell. Any suggestions on that? All advice will be greatly appreciated.

I've worked with the HQ Avante. It is sweet. It has power, yet is not to large or heavy when working it. I belong to a machine quilting group. We meet once a month and HQ is what we work with. I have a pfaff, and want to trade it for a Avante. I've never worked on a Gammil.

The stitch regulator is a must have on a longarm. It makes for less stress from the user. I wouldn't go without that....I am the happy owner of an APQS Millenium. You wouldn't necessarily need the top end machine, but the machine glides across the table and I do love it. Just wish I was a lot more proficient. Good Luck and Congrats!

Lucky you!!! I would say that the stitch regulator would be a big plus.

Too bad you live in Florida. I live in Wisconsin and was looking to purchase this exact set up. So now I know someone who used the Juki machine how is it. I really wish you lived close to me. Id purchase this in a heart beat!

i love this juki. It has never let me down. I've just sorta outgrown it for quilt frame quilting and want a larger quilting area. If you want I'll ask my hubby if he still has the boxes it came it since we got it ups, maybe we can ship it to you....

Palm Coast Florida - If you come and go to Disneyworld (about 90 min from me) you can pick this up on your way home!

Disney World, wish I could. Id pick you up on the way. Have some fun and then ask you for all your expertise on quilting. I am new at it and just started. I've made 3 quilts. each one is a little more squared up and looks a better than the last one. Its addicting.

I have no idea which one is best but I'm so happy for you and your helpful husband! We use Craigslist to buy a lot of things online. Even found my daughter's car there. You can try using it to sell your machine.
You can post in a city near you if you don't want to worry about shipping.

good 4 you!!!!

wish my dh was so proactively supportive! it sounds like he really knows what he got. I would leave it alone. from my research he picked a great machine, and as you have already pointed out you are getting substantial features for the money (which is a lot, but really a fraction of the whole) and as he has already committed, my advice, give a hug and a kiss and say 'thank you dear'!!!

I'll have to do more than 'say' thank you (giggle) but I think it sorta makes up for all his musical equipment. keeps me busy ;-)
