Also in Saudi, after slaughtering a lamb, all the unusual pieces are put into a pot and cooked together as a soup and for hours. The head (remember to remove the nose worm that's there), entrails, my sister-in-law uses her fingers to crochet the intestins into a rope, feet and anything no one wants to eat in normal cooking. I've watched this but have only learned to cook the feet, get between the hoves and dig out the hair ball from there. Someones waste is anothers delicasy!!

Did you not know that in China, NOTHING is wasted?

If it moves, they eat it, every single part of it.
Just watch the food travel shows on cable tv and you will be shocked at some of the things they eat, it turns my stomach.

I must admit though, that I have eaten frogs legs (very yummy); and chocolate coated ants (very sweet) but I could not, for the life of me, eat escargot (snails).

And I would have to be really starving before I could eat widgedy grubs like the Aboriginals here in Australia do.
Bon appetit!

If you are going to kill an animal for food then you should eat all of it!

My DH told me that the USA exports a lot of our chicken feet to China, where they are eaten as a delicacy.
Isn't it wounderful that God made so many people, who like so many different things?
Once, one of our exchange students from Spain, looked at us strangely, because we were picking up our French fries with our fingers. He lived here for a year, and by the end of the year he would only occasionally eat a French fry without his knife and fork.

so sorry girls....they are chicken feet....We have alot of the Asian cultures where I work, and you see alot of them in their plates.....I have to leave cause it is the most impossible thing to watch someone eat.....I had the misfortune to walk past someone eating out of a dish I thought said pork n beans...when I went back buy with my food, i read it clearer and it was pork brains...needles to say my food went in the garbage and i was very ill the rest of the day....We have to watch out when we have potlucks....there are alot of dishes that come with whole fish heads, duck beaks, eye balls and misc....OK.... ENOUGH...I AM STARTING TO GET QUEESY....SORRY....

I have eaten chicken feet. My granny used to boil them in the soup. When they are skinned and cooked they are fine. If you eat gizzards, cows tongue or the stomach which is a Mexican staple called Tripe it is no different.Pickled pigs feet, pork rinds, all part of the animal and completely edible. Just sounds gross. Now if you offered me grasshoppers, deep fried spiders or boiled centipedes....no way.

In Central Texas, they are selling chicken feet along side the chicken breast in the fresh meat case at the local grocery store chain. I've never seen anyone pick them up and toss them in their cart, but somebody must be buying them. Of course they are also selling chicken hearts, too.

I love the picture of the chicken house on your farm! It reminds me of the one at my grandma's farm, but it was less open and could be closed up, in case of a fox.

I did too, Kay. So I took a few step classes and they seem to have gone away! hahahaha

These are SPICY chicken feet with the nails included. I think I will just paint them red and put on display, but thanks for the vision in my head of people actually eating these.
