Dear "Teddy"
Not sure of your name so chose the cutest part of your avatar! I am so glad you asked that question.
This thread sounds like it is loved a lot and is used by quite a few ""cuties"". From what I've read here the thread seems to be of fantastic quality with a great range of colours and a high sheen. That's what you want when embroidering don't you?
Such a good price too for such a beautiful selection of colours and thanks to all who have commented about the range. I hope to have mine soon.
Love and blessings Chris
Thanks for your reply! Waiting for the mail man is going to be tough - can't wait for it to get here.
PS: Pcteddyb is because I like PC's and I make Teddy Bears (and collect them too).
I am so glad that you asked the question because I was interested in the thread. I just have to use up all my Mediera and figure out how to make the color conversion from Merdiera to Metro. Thanks
Thanks for your reply! Everyone here at Cute is just so great so I thought this would be the place to ask for input.
Thanks for the answers - really appreciate all the comments from the Cuties. I just purchased all 166 colors they offer at a great price of just 107.90 + shipping (wanted to buy before their sale ends) - should be set to sew just about anything once it arrives!
I use it in my Viking SE. Fantastic deals. Never had a problem with them and every once in a while the will run a sale of .69 per spool. great price
I have used Metro for about a year or so now, and have never really had any issues. There was a mix up with one order, but Metro sent the correction out right away. Just recently I was using a 5500 yd spool of one color, and it seemed to break a lot, but that is the only issue that I have had. I love the sheen in the threads, and such a good price, that I would buy again.
Love the Metro thread, In Europe we have to wait some weeks before we can use it but I have never had any problems.
I have the variegated threads from Metro and love them. The picture on the site shows them to appear dull, but they are just as vibrant as the solid colors.
I used a thin point sharpie to label mine and also stuck the sticker inside like quail shows with the exception of trimming off the top part.
Here is a picture of what I mean about keeping track of the Metro thread colors.
I do that also, but in addition, I mark the edge of the spool with the color number. That helps a lot.
Thanks to all of you cuties! Must be good stuff - not a negative reply in the bunch so far. I think I will order the BIG pack like linda8450 - should be able to sew just about anything with 166 colors to chose from!
I recently ordered the BIG pack, and some pre-wound bobbins. I had never used them before, and I am thrilled. I have a Viking Diamond and it loves the thread and the sheen is outstanding. I mixed some of this new thread and some of my existing RA and Sulky on a project...what a difference! I love love love the sheen on the Metro and I had no problems with the pre-wound bobbins ( I was a little leary).
The colors are great, every subtle shade you might ever want. The only drawback I see is that the colors aren't named/numbered in a place that will remain with the spool. The little round label on the top of the spool is destroyed when you put in on the machine....I don't know how I would order a replacement color should I not want the whole kit again! Price is outstanding ( I took advantage of a great sale and had lots of fun color-coding my storage drawers). Just do it!
Linda
Dear linda8450,
I take the little color sticker off the top of the spool and restick it to the bottom...to the inside of the hole that would fit over your spindle. I can keep track of the colors that way.
THANKS, I am usually more creative than on this one...so this is GREAT. I just turned one over and thought, hmmm, no room for marking...I am left handed and have the writing skills of a surgeon hehehe the sticker goes inside!
My dear - it appears that you have your answer - but I just wanted to say - I use MetroEmb threads in my Babylock Ellegante2 and my Mother's Husqvarna Designer I and I have no trouble with either machine with these lovely threads. Thanks!
Sounds too good to be true Shirlene, I hope it is as good as everyone says.
Love Chris
I have a Baby Lock and it LOVES the Metro thread... good price...go for it!!!
Hugs
All 5 of my machines love it! I've NEVER had a problem with their embroidery and filled bobbin thread.
I have a Janome 350e and they work GREAT! in mine in fact I prefer it to nearly all other threads out there except my beloved ARC poly.
if you do experience any trouble just adjust your tension it does seem to take a much tighter tension than ARC.
the shine is great and so far (I have used it now for nearly a year)the durability is great also. and the new 50 colors are on sale right now.
I have purchased Metro threads and they work great in my Brother Innovis 1500D. The price was the very best I have seen - they were prompt in their delivery and since then, I have purchased bobbin thread from them too. So far so good. Good luck in your deciding!*
