What's the difference between quilting thread and regular thread? Is it the thickness? TIA ;D

Quilting thread is thicker and sturdier than sewing thread. Usually it is made of longer staple cotton fibers so it is less prone to breakage when quilting.

Quilting thread also has has a coating on it sometimes . Its stronger than some but not others and it cand damage your machine (break Needles ) if you dont watch what you are doing and use the rite needle Lol !! Hope this helps

Quilting thread is usually 100% cotton.

quilting thread is thicker and stronger to hold the multiple layers together, regular thread is a standard weight for sewing clothing and embroidery thread is thinner and shinier for appearance. You also have metalics which are flat and stretchy. Hope this helps...... ;-)
