I do not know the design you stitched out -
that being said you can treat some FSL designs as if they are an applique type design.
If the design does a initial stitch out of the outline after it stitches the outline of the design stop the machine and trim the fabric (tulle or organza) away. Continue with the design. I would not suggest using satin as a fabric for FSL.
FYI you can use any filled design stitched out on organza or tulle and it becomes an FSL design if you trim the tulle/organza after the outline stich.
If my explanation is confusing please private mesage me and I will try to assist you
Midge - the best thing to do - is not stitch them on tulle or satin - FSL means Freestanding Lace - which means - that you use WSS and thread - you will rinse the WSS out and you will just have thread - but if you have stitched them on tulle or statin - you are going to have to be very patient and cut as close as you can - especailly if you don't care for the heat tool - that scorches the edges of your material. The tulle should be much easier to cut away - but you still have to be very careful to not cut too much and cut your stitches - you might decide that you need to cut your material - before the final satin stitching on the outside of the design - then allow that stitching to go over the edge of your material and that may eliminate some of the trouble. Good luck and please enjoy using FSL - as I too have a love of lace. Hehehe! Shirlene
