Yes, they talk. Some more or better than others. My youngest, Buddy, talks all the time, though it is mostly chirpy noises, he doesn't really meow. Sweet Pea will talk when you have something she especially wants, like a favorite food or catnip. I swear Yoda knows how to say "Mom" and "No". THey make all sorts of vocalizations to get humans to do what they want you to do. Supposedly, feral cats don't vocalize at all, they are silent. It is a learned behavior to get what they want from their humans. Fascinating creatures, cats. I have 8, and every one has a different personality, and different vocal sounds.
When I tell people they talk they look at me like I am crazy. She was a stray. She was thrown out when the mom was pregnant and left to fend for herself way too young. She was a tiny thing always hanging around my yard that connected with my human touch. I saw her again a few months later skin and bones and starving. I took her in and she has been with me for 3 years now. What a personality! Yoda is probably speaking the words. Work with yoda and I am sure that cat will increase its vocabulary. My cat actually says the words not just chirpy noises. She always squeaks and mumbles all the time but talks when she wants things. She is so fun all the time very entertaining. Suzanne
Wow; do some videos and send them into America's Funniest Home Videos. Would love to see you cat do her tricks!
Sounds like you have a very intelligent cat Suzanne, I have never heard of a cat talking before!!!
Can't wait to see a posting of her - my friend had a dog who uses to say "Sausages" & that was sooo funny
I would not have believed it until I saw and heard it with my own ears. Everybody around here gets a good laugh when they hear her talk. Funny thing is the shape of her mouth changes and so does her voice when she speaks. Too funny to see/ Suzanne
Maybe she's a person from a previous life that wanted to come back as a cat and she can't stop talking!!!!
