Well I have another whole impression of this. I do not like all the whiskers left over after satin stitching ( does not happen all the time) so I print out a template put steam a seam on a piece of fabric and cut out the applique piece the exact size. Once the piece has been embroidered down using the iron I iron it down so the steam a seam sticks. This makes the piece always lay flat to the project.
I use the same ones listed below, picked mine up at Joy Ann Fabrics- Gingher brand. I waited till they send out the 1/2 price coupons for the store!
Give me a way to mail a pair to you! I have several pair that I used to sale, no problem. As a thanks for your designs!
my scissor looks like this, especially with curves and small details it is very handy.
I like my duckbill, but also the curved ones. I had to special order the duckbill since I'm left-handed. :)
I too love my applique scissors and also the double curved small ones..they were a gift at Christmas and I am getting ready to order a few more pair of them...They are an absolute necessity for applique work..
I love my Duck Bill Scissors for my applique work.
I have a couple that I use. I have the duckbill ones and I also have a pair that is curved that helps me too. I wait for the Fabricland sales or for when I cross the border to go to Joanns. Gotta love discount coupons and sales!
There is a special flat sided scissor, expensive ,but I find a GOOD pair of cuticle scissors works just as well.
Personally, I bought the "special" applique big bladed scissors, and don't like them. I have a small, very sharp cutting pair that can get right up to the line. Just hold the fabric up and sort of slide them along the stitching.
Jo
I have a pair of curved applique scissors but they get dull fast and my husband can't sharpen them. I use the little gold crane scissors more often.
