Evidently I misunderstood.
Lessons from Viv while she is in Australia are not going to be free.
I do apologise for misleading anyone but when she was originally asked the cost she just posted her signature, which had the words:
"come join us for free digitizing lessons"
So this is where the mis-information came from.
sincere apologies, Meganne
Hi Meg,
I've just joined and look forward to seeing where she will end up. Love and blessings Chris
Yes, I would like to try and organise something, perhaps at Parramatta or Hornsby.
I know there is an Embroidery group that meets at Hornsby but have no other info.
Any get together would be better than none.
I wouldn't mind taking her and her hubby to Katoomba even, and meeting up with embroiderers there, but I don't know anyone there.
At least there is time to work something out for her, but I still think she would be better flying into Brisbane instead of Sydney, and working their way down the coast.
Hugs n roses, Meg
I was wondering if she has google earth? Eungai Creek is so far away from the Gold Coast as well, but if she heads up this way there are plenty of us who meet up and say G'day.
I joined up on the yahoo site as well.
Louise :)
Hi Louise, I sent her many links, including Google Earth, Whereis (Aus), Government requirements, regional and national airports, car hire, Travel and accommodation.
Like most Americans she just has no idea how large Australia is, I think she believes it is only about the size of Texas. LOL!!!
I hope she gets a chance to fly across Aus and see just how long it takes. hehehehe!!!
hugs n roses, Meg
I have joined and would love to see what she has to offer
Raelene
Someone mentioned her driving the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne to Geelong, then on the Adelaide, would you be able to meet her in Adelaide or is it too far from you?
Hugs n roses, Meg
TTT this got lost and I would really like it to be seen. thanks, Meg
Vivian Gibson, Digitizer, embroidery teacher and owner of Rose Cottage Embroidery and Rose Cottage Embroidery Yahoo List is trying to plan her itinerary for her upcoming trip to Australia and she needs our help.
Like most Americans she knows very little about our country, but she would like to meet up with fellow embroiderers, offering free digitising lessons and just generally swapping ideas and enjoying our friendship.
A special yahoo group has been set up just to do this and I invite you, no, I IMPLORE you, to please join this group and give us your input to help make this lady (& her DH) feel welcome in our beautiful Australia.
When you join, please read some of the posts so that you will get some kind of idea of the suggestions that have already been put forward.
Announce yourself and state where you live (not your address, per se, but just where you live.
FYI.... Eungai Creek, where she will be visiting, is located in Northern NSW, just off the Pacific H'wy between South West Rocks and Macksville.
I am hoping for a big response from Aussie Cuties, please don't disappoint.
hugs n roses, Meganne
