I just downloaded the butterfly in HUS and converted it to PES. I seems to work OK. I am able to read it with my PES Basic. If it is OK with 10tje, I can email this to you. It is a beautiful butterfly, I can understand why you are trying to get it. Joyce

In Designs by Cuties, right under the butterfly is a rose alpha by 10tje. I downloaded it and was able to read it with no problem. I wonder what the difference is between it and the butterfly. I don't understand. Joyce

These problems are only found in the ped basic I believe.

I have posted a pic of the tank top I did the butterfly on. My machine pulled a spot down into the bobbin area and I ended up with a small hole where a tiny butterfly should be so now I have to find a way to cover that. I hate when that happens!

I hear many people complain a basic ped.
I once had one myself, but as soon as he entered, he went out again. what a damn thing.
If you succeed with a different pattern of me, I can not do anything again.
I can send them directly to an PES, but whether that works?? I do not think so.

I have done other designs by you and they were perfect. The roses alpha "D" is on a sweatshirt and so pretty. The "N" shows size is 75.00"(w)x70.00"(h) so didn't try to download it. You are a doll!

I havent had a problem with my PED Basic since I upgraded the software to ver1.7. Sorry you didnt like it 10tje.

Sounds like you either didnt use enough stabiliser, or used the wrong type for the top you were embroidering. Hugz

211079Are you still having problems with the butterfly from 10tje? I had a problem last week with the towel hanger from Smithandsmith. Someone suggested that maybe it was saved in a newer version than I could use. If 10tje can save it as an older version it might work. Otherwise, you might be able to download it as a different format and convert it. They sure can be frustating at times.

Yes, it just won't show up, I updated my software with tons of help from cuties and have downloaded a couple of other things that came through fine. 10tje actually sized the butterfly down for me cause my machine only goes to 4 by 4 and I don't know how to convert from one format to another. It is so beautiful and I'd love to have it but I don't know what else to do.

Do you think 10tje would downsize it in a different format and then it can be converted. I am using Wilcom TrueSizer. It worked good on one design of Smith and Smith, but the others, it made the design larger than 4X4 so I still can't use them. Maybe someone can suggest a different way to convert. Joyce

5469I've heard that other cuties who had the same problem. Download another format, such Hus and convert it to PES and that he works.
Maybe you do something about.

Ok, I downloaded one from designsbysick and one from cuties that both came in perfect but your butterfly won't show up after I download it and I love it so much. Don't know any other way to get it.

52672Make sure you remove the old PED first. To do that you click the start button, then click on control panel. In there you will find "Add or Remove Programs" Click on that and find the PED program. Click the button to remove it.
Then go to brother to download the new one at the link below
Select the version of windows you are using and the language you want. Then the search button. The next screen will be full of instructions... don't worry about them just scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the download button.
click the download button and a page will come up where you have to click the "I Accept" button.
Now you will see the download screen. Click "Run" and the program will install.
It only takes a minute or 2 and you will then be able to attache the card writer and see all your designs just as before.

I have done this several times and after I click on the accept button it does a simple download thing that shows up when I download anything but it isn't giving me a place to click "Run" so I am ready to scream! Right now my Ped is uninstalled and didn't install when after I clicked on accept.

When I click on accept it brings up a box telling me it is a binary file and asks if I want to save the file, I can click yes or cancel and then it shows in my download box but doesn't take me anywhere from there and PED-Basic is still uninstalled. No place to click on it to run. I swear I'm gonna cry soon.

Oh, that is sweet of you. I get so frustrated and my son use to help me but he moved way out of town 3 years ago so I email him and pray he can figure out what the heck I am talking about. He is a computer program and web guy. Still trying to figure out where my kids got their brains, lol.

70914I upgraded my PED Basic not long after I got it (beats me why they still ship with the older version of the software anyway lol). I read the instructions but as I'm a rebel I didnt bother to uninstall and reinstall, I just installed it on top of my current version and everything works fine.
"No sewing data" is an error caused by your software not being able to read the file: either your software needs to be upgraded (to be able to read pes v6) or your pes file is corrupt.
If a design is too big for the hoop you've selected then in PED Basic you'll see a hoop with a line through it and cant select that design to transfer to your card.

4309Do you have PES? I had this happen to me also. I found out that my version of PED was an older version. I had Vers 1. I went to the Brother web page and downloaded Ver 1.7. I am no longer having this problem. I hope this helps you.

They did not ask me where I got my PED Basic. They have adownload file where you can get the Ver 1.7.

I have the Brother site up and must admit, I am totally confused! It says to uninstall PE-D BASIC, will that remove all the designs I have saved already? Man, I need my son here and he lives 45 minutes away and is sooo busy. I am not computer savy, lol!

It will NOT remove any of your designs.
I'm a software engineer and I just did it my self. I still have all of my designs and the program runs so much faster and better than the old version. If you need help uninstalling the old version, let me know and I will guide you.

Oh man yes, I need help! First off it says to create a temp folder C:\Temp but I don't know where or how to do that, tried the right click to put a new folder on the desktop but it won't accept anything other than the letter C, tried start, run and typing it in but since the file doesn't exist I am stopped there.

You don't have to worry about the temp file. All you need to do is allow it to run when it asks you. It's directly from Brother so you have nothing to worry about.

It told me to put my CD in and click on start and it would update it but it didn't seem to do anything though I think I clicked on all the right things. I am an idiot.

Don't conntec the card writer until after you are done downloading the program.
When you download it will ask you if you want to save or run the program. Select run and it will install the program for you. When it's all done you can connect the card writer.
