Why not make your own like I do, you not only save a fortune, but you can make them large enough to fit 5,000 mt spools too.

Go to your local flower shop - ask them - if they get their flowers in netting - if so - they more than likely will give you as much of that as you can carry off - you will have netting for all your speciality and embroidery threads - more than likely enough to share with your embroidery buddies, too.

I was using nets for the threads, but have since changed to plastic. If you go to a fabric store, they sell very thin plastic that sticks to itself. Cut a strip the length of your thread holder, and make sure it wide enough to go around the thread. then cut it, and wrap it around, I like them better than the nets. Hope this helps...and that is a very cheap way to keep the threads neat. You probably only need about 1/4 of a yard, it goes a long way.

Go to your local florest and ask them - if they have netting that comes around the roses and flowers - I am sure they would give you all you want - just cut it to the size that you need it.

I bought mine here......

http://www.abc-machine-embroidery...

I bought a pack of 50 nets during a sale last year and paid about half the price, if I remember rightly. I cut my nets in half to about 3" but I'd cut them a bit shorter if I had net by the metre/yard. When I'm using a thread I fold the to of the net back so it doesn't catch the thread.
Nets are brilliant for keeping threads neat and safe, a bit more work folding them back but well worth the trouble.
Here are a couple of other places to look at.

Here is Australia, there is a mail order site called www.creekcreations.com.au

You can get it by the metre and I think they may post overseas, but I have bought a lot of stuff from there and never had a problem. Their threads are very good too.

I saw a suggestion from someone (don't remember where), but do you or someone you know buy garlic? You can get them in pkg of 3 and the netting is just like the netting is just like the thread nets. I started saving mine. It's longer than what I need, but depending on the size of your spools that you want them for you would be able to get two from one garlic net - just cut it in half - otherwise just cut it to the length you need - no charge!

Go to a florist, and ask them to save the bloom nets for you. They work perfectly and they usually just throw them away. They come on some flowers to protect the blooms, and are exactly like our thread nets.

You might try Shopper's Rule. They have them. Their item # is ANSTN - just in case the URL doesn't work. Too - if you go into shoppersrule and type thread net into search.
