Thanks to the ladies who answered my question a few days ago about hooping towels. Took their advice and used the self-adhesive stabilizer and did not hoop..worked great. So much easier!

Not sure I know how. It's just a hand towel with initials for my son-in-law to use at the gym. Would really like to do something prettier to show to everyone.

I use the basting stitch the other day and love it. Better to me than the sticky back. I placed the stabilizer in the hoop and the lay my towel in position I wanted and then used the basting stitch to hoop it and laid my water soluble stabilizer on top and it stitched out beautiful. You can down load the basting stitch from this site. Good luck which ever way you try. have fun trying different ways You just gotta find what works best for you. Sara

Do you still use a tear-away stabilizer on bottom? The one thing I have noticed is sticky wants to pull too much whenever removing it. Especially on those inexpensive tea towels.

I usually use sticky back wss. If I have it on hand
otherwise I pin my towel to the vilene and then use a topper.
Then I do a basting stitch. Remove pins.
This way I do not have to pick stabilizer away and maybe risk pulling the loops, something to try in the future maybe?

Thanks...I'll try it sometimes. Always good to know of alternatives. Have a great weekend!
