So sorry. Will follow the advice, and increase my storage of designs and photos to several types of media in addition to backup drives. Whew.
This was my temporary thumb drive but have only lost from cute alphabets and amazing website everything else was still there. I actually have 4 lots of permanent storage for my designs, including 2 computers, external hard drive and my big thumb drive. just cant figure it out.

Thumb drives can become corrupt at any time.
I keep telling everyone, over and over, do not trust storage of your designs solely to a thumb drive.
You should have them stored in several places, an external hard drive and several copies on DVD's and/or CD's as well as doing regular backups.
Deary me Helen, what am I going to do with you???
Just as an afterthought, Have you searched your computer for these files? Just in case you weren't actually downloading to the thumb drive when you thought you were.
Sometimes I absent-mindedly download and I am still in another folder, so when I go looking in the folder they should have been in, they aren't there but I find them stored in the folder I had downloaded to previously.

Meg, I downloaded onto a thumb drive at work. Everything else is there except the 5 alpha fonts from amazing and cute alpha.
I usually transfer to another drive each night when I get home but was knitting scarves and so left it to do Sunday, tried to find them last night. they were there friday night but gone last night, shame will have to wait and vote for them.

Good advice Meg. My DH is in Taiwan giving clients thumb drives with presentations on them, and I hope he does not have the same problem.
did not remove till after computer was turned off, just weird that it was mon to fri downloads from amazing and cute
Well you were doing the right (correct) thing by DL'ing to a flash drive.
Unfortunately before you removed the 'THUMB DRIVE' did you open the downloads?
If the download was interrupted you will NOT be able to use/view these designs.
Are you removing your thumb drive correctly? I had my computer man tell me he had lost files by trying to hurry up & just take it out. You need to click on the icon at the bottom of the screen that usually is a computer with a check mark over it. When you hold your cursor over it, it say's Safely Remove Hardware. Click & a window will pop to say it's safe or it's busy & try later. If you have just downloaded to it, sometime it's busy. Try download something to your desktop, then check again. Hope this helps. Was anything else missing on the drive?
no I did it all the right way but think I will change to another thumb drive for this week.
