Thanks everyone for the help. I will try again to reach Roslyn with a PM. Suzanne
Maybe you should go to projects and on all of roslyn's projects post the link for this question
Hopefully she will see this then. I wish she would look at the private tab and see I left her a private message about it.
Hi still looking for Roslyn and other ideas. Thanks everybody! Suzanne
Roslyn I am hoping you can give me an answer so I can complete another project. Everyone has given me good ideas and a link hoping you can add something . Thanks so much! Suzanne
Hi I was wondering if anyone had any more ideas? Can someone contact Rosyln and ask her to drop me a line? She does a lot of the FSL and might have an idea for me. Thanks so much!! Suzanne

Hi Thanks this helped some and I got a few ideas, but the edges of these designs are smooth and I can do those easily. I am talking about the ones that have edges that are irregular.Suzanne
Great question, something to try later down the tracks for. I have recently been bitten by the fsl bug.

I think the best way is the old fashioned way and that is to finish the fabric edge and then stitch the lace on by hand. With good had stitching you will never see the stitches.
NOTE: My Grandmother also did her rolled edges by hand and you never saw the stitches.
Perhaps Roslyn will come along and share with you - what she does on all her pretty FSL edging on her doilies and table clothes.
You could always try embroidery the fsl straight onto the doily instead of sewing it on later, depending of course on the designs and the shape of the doily.

Great question I have often wondered myself, I always just thought it was embroidered straight to the edge of the fabric.
