Pull the presser foot lever up a little more and slide the hoop under side ways, then put it down again.

Hope you got it fixed. I also had to turn off the machine & re-calabrate the emb. arm. As dino said, be SURE you write down where you where in the design! And if you had moved it any, write down the numbers where it was when it stopped.

I have had a similar problem with my D1, only the pressure foot would not go down. I finally had to resort to turning the machine off and back on. No problems since. If you are in the middle of a design, just be sure to make a note of your last stitch number so you can return to the last spot.

Were you able to get your pressure foot up to get your hoop under it?
Let us know please.

Also check to make sure your plug for your machine is pushed in right and hasn't come loose.
You could try to put the pressure foot in the down position and then try to put it up again.

Have u tried turning machine off? I can do that & my machine when turned back on will ask me do I want to resume what I was doing & take me back to the exact stitch I was on. Since our machines are mostly computers I have found by rebooting(unplugging the machine) for a few mins. it resets it's self. Don't know anything about the Designer 1. *

Push the up arrow button for the pressure foot twice.
It has 2 position settings one higher than the other.

If that doesn't work take your needle out and try re selecting your design so the hoop moves into position for it and see if the pressure foot goes up.
