Such elegant looking towels you've done. Thanks for sharing your work& the design info too.:~D
This came up from a time back. Thank you for your comments the second time around. Kay
It was well worth it. I can see that it must have been a nightmare to remove the topping. I always have a small spray bottle with water handy to help remove the solvy. The towels are far too beautiful to use!!!
They are lovely, try next time to spray water on, no need to wash, just spray(dab)
Cuties to the top again and thank you for all your sweet remarks and kind suggestions. this is what it is all about , sharing input and ideas. Love you all!!! Kay
Such elegant looking towels you've done. Were they purchased already trimmed& if so, could you please tell where you'd found them ? Thanks for sharing your lovely project & God's blessings.:~D
I bought these at a Tuesday's Morning store. The company name is Avantilinens.com. I guess they are in major department stores and are a little pricey. I always buy all my towels on clearance as I don't have a wholesale license to buy cheaper.
It is a stunning design. I just dab some water on the solvy and it dissolves. No need to wash the towel or pick it out.
Beautiul colors, wonderful design..... simply fantastic!!!!!
I like this Kay . Beautiful work! Absolutely stunning. Bet u try the heat away next time. *
Wish I had all your ideas when I was pulling out my hair. Flowers to all for taking time to offer help. Kay
They are gorgeous. To get rid of the little pieces of solvy, all you have to do is use a wet cotton swab, it will do the trick,****
Kay, these are sooo beautiful! Your added touches makes this look like a very expensive set of towels from a very Ritzy Shop! Your work is always beautiful. You take such normal/regular towels and make designer sets out of them! You can tell that your are a perfectionest when it comes to all of your work!
This monogram is very elegant, I love those towels***
Your towels are beautiful and you did a great job on them. *4U
Lovely, elegant designs. I can imagine picking out the solvy was difficult with all those lovely curls. Have you tread the heat-and-gone type? It's a bit pricey compared to solvy, but I love it for this type of thing.
I put some wax paper over the towel, try it next time.
I see that your design have much detail, I must admit I havent done one with so many detail in it, but I just hoop the wax paper over the towel and when Im done it just tear away easily and just give it a good shake, it helps so that the towelfiber dont get stuck between the stitches.
I guess it works like the solvy topping. Worth a try. would be cheaper too. i am all about cheaper!!
sounds like a good idea-going to try this-does it hold up well on dense stitching? and does what does remain between details-wash out?
WOW THIS IS WAY CHEAPER NEVER HEARD OF IT! WILL DEFINATLE GIVE THIS A TRY THANKS DEIRDRE.
Very pretty, Kay. I just use a spray bottle filled with water and dab away the residue with a white paper towel since these can't be washed prior to putting in a store.
I tried a damp micro terry towel, but it left a nappy look on the velvet finish towels. finally, I hung them and used my clothes steamer to dissolve the tiny pieces.
