thanks mary, with regular current the machine is instantly switched off during a power cut.If it is connected to a inverter current atleast we can take a note of the stitch count before switching the machine off.So i guess,we scared ones , can run it for just a few seconds .

That is a good question, I do have inverter current and UPS but still do not dare to use my embroidery or sewing machine with it, that is why my time for embroidery is limited to regular electric power, and sometimes the time for regular electricity is difficult, like right now is 3:30 pm and the power went off around 10;00 in the morning. We are with the inverter so I can not use my embroidery machine, some people say it is ok some other is not ok. A friend of mine used her Huskavarna once with the inverter and the machine went crazy, she had to take to the repair shop and it cost her a furtune, so I would not use my machines with the inverter. Now for the curious about what is an inverter in a device hooked to a set of especial batteries, in my home we have 8, it feeds the batteries from the regular power and when there is no power it starts to work, You do not even notice when it happened, sometimes you have to see if the inverter is or is not working. It runs everything in your home, I ask my DH to install an electric outlet with the regular electricity so I do not have to worried if I am using or not the regular power or the inverter. Lucky the ones that do not have to worried about electricity. We are seriously thinking about solar power. The electricity in Dominican Republic is a mess and very expensive.

Ahhh--it must be like a back up generator, except it runs off back up batteries. I would think the big problem might be that you would get power spikes that would fry the electronics in the new computerized machines. Inconsistent voltage levels are very bad for computer equipment.

I do have inverter at home but I would not dare to use the inverter I heard that the inverter electric waves are different from the regular electricity waves. Like I said before a friend of mine used it and her machine had to go to the repair shop.
