Sharon also digitzes designs to use with the Mylar so trust that her information is accurate.
Perhaps ask Lynn if she has laundered the items she has done in mylar

Thanks to all, a lot of my questions about Mylar have been answered here!
Dear Carla , yu can visualize that I, in my small city in a store found, are with this that I make my mylar and works perfectly, but doesnt have to be ironed!<br />I love mylar, I love Mylar, I love mylar, I love Mylar, jejeje!!!!!
Thank you for your answer Aquesanta, but as Sewmom already asked, not the ironing is the problem but the washing. I will wait adn see your result after washing with the mylar designs. Thank you again for all your designs, I love them as you can sse in the comments on your site and I'll try to write in Spanish too :0) Muchos gracias Aquasanta
I know my dear, your name is carla!!!!!! Thanks soo much for yours sweets comments everyday.... muaaac
I know a digitizer who does these designs for her business and says she has washed and dried her items with mylar numerous times and they're like new. She uses the iridescent and opalescent mylar but has used green and pink with success. The red does 'bleed', though.
opalalescent and iridescent mylar is a film that has the metallization built right into the film, as opposed to the colored mylar which is basically a clear film which has had the ink put over it.
So the colored mylar the dye will wash out
NOT the opalalescent and iridescent mylar
Thanks for this clarification. I have purchased some opalescent mylar, but haven't tried it yet.
Thank you, I didn't know there were more sorts of mylar, have to go searching for this one somewhere.
Sharon sells it at her website I believe it can also be found at party supply stores
It sounds as if it is better to use it only for decoration objects like pictures, bags and so on which do not need to be washed?
I'm also interested in an answer.....or experience blessings

I often wondered and questioned this, too.
Did we get the answer - can we wash it - without worrying? Love that new picture, too.
I too have asked around about this, but can not get an answer. Is mylar washable? I have not done a design yet, but want to give it a try. My machine dealer acted as though they did not know of mylar designs. Come on cuties out there - surely some of you have washed your mylar. Help us.
I have washed a top that I embroidered with Mylar. It is a hummingbird design, and I used the opalescent mylar. The top has been washed three times now, by hand "just in case"!It is still as good as new. I have got some of the coloured mylar, but I will use that on greetings cards, and things that don't have to be washed.
A good idea to use the coloures kind for greetingcards. :0) Thank you for your answer
