welcome to cute!!! You'll find great help, wonderful people and beautiful designs here on cute. Enjoy :)
Hi Welcome! 1st don't be afraid to ask questions. We are all here to help. We all have various degrees of sewing and embroidery experience. Some have been doing it for years some just started. The only stupid questions are the ones not asked. 2nd don't be afraid to try things. Take a scrap piece of material and experiment before you do it on the real thing. This way if it gets ruined no big deal at least you are not ruining your good things. 3rd read various tutorials. Embroidery Library has a lot of them with videos to watch and there is a lot of info and helpful people on this site. 4TH stabalizers are your friend. Get to know which ones do what. You will need a variety of them such as WSS(water soluable) Tear away ansd cut away. Those are the three I use the most of. 5th embroidery is not like sewing. YOU MUST change the needle often. I change it after so many hours of sewing. Check your book it will tell you and if it doesn't ask the dealer what they recommend I keep track of the hours on a little sticky note and change it when The needle makes noise or is used so many hours. 6th Keep an eye on the embroidery. Believe me if you walk away while it's running GUARENTEED something will happen. I swear the machine has eyes waiting for you to leave. Last embroidery is addictive as well as downloading, there is no known cure. ENJOY YOUSELF! Hope this helps a bit . Suzanne
welcome on the cutest embroidery site!
if you go to the text:tutotial here on the left column you see a lot of explanations and how to,of this site already.
And don't be afraid to ask something, there are no stupid questions;it's only stupid if you do have a question and don't ask.
So enjoy your stay here and you're warned already it can become an addiction. I can tell:
I confess I'm a Cute addict :)
Welcome to cute! you will be addicted soon like the rest of us. Sally
Welcome to Cute, just sit back and enjoy. Lots to be learned, and lots of listeners to talk to.
Hugs and God bless
Marietta
Welcome. Hope to see a lot of you.
To add pictures to your post you have to save a gif or animated gif. Then when you answer a post you go below the answer box and click "upload image", then "browse" then go to your file that you saved your gif to and click on your picture, then "upload" I hope I explained that well enough.
You can practice by right clicking on this welcome heart and then "save image as". There are sites where you can get free gifs, just search on the internet.
Welcome to this addictive site 1sewnsew. Warning there is no cure available. He, he. Let me add one more item. On the left there is a category "tutorial". Marjialexa had done a great job posting visual help how to manage the site. Of course posting a question always gets answers
Welcome to Cute and Happy Sewing, that is if you have any time after being here
Welcome to Cute, we are your extended family, there is a wealth of information here and someone can answer your questions for sure. Nobody know it all but someone will answer your ?'s. I have learned a lot here and believe I will learn a lot more. Caution this place is addictive. Hope to see you on here a lot. And post some of your projects. I love this place and all the Cuties.
Welcome and I'm so glad you are here. Start over on the left there in the "blue" section with tip, tips, tutorial and that will give you a good jumping in place. Ask anything you want to here. None of us knew everything at the beginning (still don't) and we are happy to answer any question you have or we will try anyway. Have fun most of all.;)
Welcome to the cute family. I learn something new here everyday. Everyone is so kind and helpful. As others have said it is addictive. Another *4U
I am fairly new too...and I truly enjoy this site. This is the first site that I check out when I get up in the morning and the last site that I read before bedtime. I have downloaded GREAT designs, kinda like Christmas every day! Always remember that the designs on this site are FREE, so don't fuss if everything is not perfect..it's just like family.
Welcome,
Suzy
Ohoh!! Ssampsel, you are addictied. Tee hee!! I still think this is the best site on the internet. You think as I do. I also think of my friends her as family. H&*
I would like to give you a BIG WELCOME TO CUTE! I hope you come back often!!! Hugs, Judy
Trust me every week there is an "ah-hah" moment for me. I have been embroidering for almost 6 years and I am still learning. I only recently found this site, how I ever managed before is beyond me. Unfortunately for me this site can be difficult to navigate (there seems to be some inconsistancies) but I come back everyday (or try to) to give it another go.
Over the years I never took snapshots of the projects I made, there wasn't anyone to share them with, after I found this site I went out and bought a digital camera so I could make posts in Projects hahaha.
Sharing in personals the upcoming birth of another grand child felt heart warming, that so many from different corners of the world rejoiced with me.
There are many up and coming digitizers in
Designs By Cuties where you can get many free designs including fonts.
The freebie tab is most likely my least used tab, only because I have bought so many designs over the years I have more than the next 5 generations could use (how I wish I found this site sooner!)
If you are new to embroidery it is a must to check EVERYDAY so you can start to build a design library.
Even though I am a relative "newbie" welcome and feel free to private message me anytime :)
IF
you do ask a question that has already been asked
You will get direction from
at least one member to direct you in the proper location.
Uncondtional Acceptance, Sadie
Welcome to this wonderful fmly. Isewnsew. We are glad to have you with us. Ask questions about what you want to know. Someone here will answ. We don't claim to know everything but many know an awful lot & they stand ready to help u when they can. *4U
I am fairly new to this site too- number 1 pointer-be prepared to be on the computer for quite awhile-it's addicting-there is so much to check out. Enjoy-I know I am!~~Linda~~
Lindalee, is your avatar a kitten? It's adorable but I have a hard time seeing the little dear.
Joann
WELCOME to the CUTE family 1sewnsew. I see you have some suggestions on the navigation of the site. Click on titles - the more you do - the more you learn. Go to the different sections - the one you are in is COMMUNITY - you will enjoy what you learn here. If you have a specific question about embroidery - just ask it - the more that you become involved the more that you will learn - we all were new at this at one time or another. Have fun. *4U
Shirlene, you said it all much better than I did. I agree with it all. New people are fun, because when they ask for help it reminds us of things we have forgotton, and helps us learn more. None of us ever know it all. Huh? Hugs.
I think I'm beyond knowing it all----I'm in the re-learning stage!!!!
I once knew it, forgot it, now have to re-learn it.
Exactly that is why I said "how I ever managed before is beyond me"
Unconditional Acceptance - Sadie
Wanted to say "Welcome". I would suggesting going thru the tabs on the right side. Many have worked on setting up a wonderful tutorial. I would start with that. You are very welcome to also just keep asking questions for help. H&*
Participate and ask questions. That's how you learn. Lots of the Cuties have done whatever you are trying to do with embroidery. Everyday there are free designs offered, plus free alphabets (check the freebies tab to find them.) They have a membership if you choose to join, which Miss Veronika, the site owner puts on sale several times per year. When you participate in the forum, others give you flowers, and you can give others flowers as well. Flowers are gestures of friendship from other Cuties.
Welcome and *4U (that means I gave you a flower---)
Joann
Thank you for the info and flower, you are so knowledgeable, have you been coming here long?
I've only been here 3-4 months myself. But I'm learning more all the time, and I was a little confused by the site at first, but now I am familiar with it. Just ask questions, someone will come along and help you. These folks are friends---
