I do also but with so many hits I thought someone here could help narrow it down
If you have a 60" round table cloth you can use it as a pattern - some $ stores have them in plastic for outside patio tables - decide on how many gores you need for your embroidery patterns - divide the tablecloth by folding in half in quarters then eighths and so on...add 1/4" seam on each gore and you should have an easy pattern, you can leave one section unsewn and put velcro to close. Binding on the upper edge and lace or eyelet on the bottom or binding whichever you prefer...look in the sewing books at your material supplier they will have patterns there as well...hope this helps, have fun ...
I've been wanting to make the same thing. I bought the fabric after Christmas last year to make this one from The Polka Dot Chair for next year. At the bottom of her blog post is an area marked "you might also like" click on the one for the table runner and tiny tree skirt by Moda Bake Shop. They embroidered on the tiny skirt.
Directions for the large skirt are for 48" but you could always add another row. Link is attached. (I hope!) Nancy
Make a cirkel on paper as follows: Fold a piece of paper that is square one time in the lenght and once the other way. Be sure that the distance from the middle to the corner is 30 cm + seam alowances. Take a pin and a peace of thread (thick thread or a peace of ribbon that is 30 cm long (is about 12 inches) Fasten a pencil at one end of your thread the other end pin in place at the middle point. Now you can make a quarter of a circle and cut the line once you draw the line on the paper. Now you can make points as large as you want to make parts. I hope this is clear, if not PM to me and I will try again but English is not my home language.
Forgot to say I want it to have panels, like pie slices. So I can embroider on each section and then assemble it. ALSO Free is nice ;)
Free is always nice. I'm waiting for your answers 'cause I've been going to make a new treeskirt for probably 10 yrs now. Maybe I'll finally "Just Do It"!
