something to do. Talk about going back in time. Of course I didn't have use of the computer either so I missed a few designs. I would appreciate it if everyone would vote for the Funny Bear 8.

OH MY! Every time we have a power outage, (we call them 'blackouts' here) I round up all my candles and place them strategically in front of mirrors, the refection works so much better than just candle power.
Saw it in an old medical movie. LOL!!!

Luckily we have gas here to cook by coz I could NEVER go without my cuppa!

But I sure would be bored once my laptop battery ran down!
And no Foxtel!!!! I would end up in the looney bin for sure.
I could never read by candle-light, just couldn't see well enough.

Sure will vote for Bear no 8 for you, you deserve it as a reward.

Hugs n love, Meg

A few years ago there was an ice storm here in Okla. Our electricy was off for about a week before the power crews could repair the damage. Close neighbors gathered around a B-B-Q grill, cooked our food, chatted, laughed, shivered from the cold, and had a great time. Wouldn't want to go through that again but I do look back with good memories!

I was living in Tulsa when that storm happened. I drove to a coffee shop with WIFI internet so I could check email on my laptop.

Mickey, that had to be a difficult time for you - that is for sure - don't know exactly what I would have done - it has been years since we had to do that - once in a 'Ice Storm' in North Carolina for 96 hours and we were really camping by the end of it - it was cold most of the time, too. But we had a gas heater.

And people think it is romantic to make popcorn in the fireplace by candlelight. Well, glad that you are up and running with power again.

I live on a small farm outside of town and everything is electric. Pump for the well, stove washer and dryer. Everything. I have a desktop computer, hubby has a laptop so no computer stuff for me. To make matters worse NO coffee for hours. Had morning coffee at the neighbours in their camping trailer. I suppose I could have done some HAND embroidery but I'm not sure I remember how. All I can say is.... Thank goodness it didn't happen in the winter or I'd have no heat either... Brrrrrrrr......

It is amazing how much we depend on that power and how much we are in a auto mode like flipping the light switch. I will vote for Funny Bear 8 tomorrow, since I already voted for another missed item. Hopefully others will see this as well

Reading by Oil Lamp sure does take you back!!! Hahaha! Our electric goes off quite often here where I live in Ama, Tx. So we rest and sleep a lot at times! Where was your battery operated laptop??? Hugs, Judy
