For the first time I have had a machine needle die of old age! All previous ones have broken before the magical eight hours was up. I'm going to have chocolate to celebrate.

Yeah, a great reason to celebrate. Now since you are trying to lose weight... May I suggest a lovely and deligious veggie platter without the dip.

Strange you should say that! I am actually a vegetarian and have recently managed to loose two stone (28 pounds.)

How old is 'old age' for a needle.I tissue a drop of machine oil over mine .I did a lot of free motion embroidery back in the days and found it smooths the journey of the needle.Mine are only changed whenever ??? even now on the embroidery Machine .I use Schmetz brand .
