Good morning Linda (evening to you),
So glad to see you are doing some summer cleaning.
As you know we are renovating the kitchen and one thing leads to another. We have Trev's brother and sister-in-law arriving Thursday and today people are coming to collect a Bureau we've sold on EBAY and tomorrow someone is coming to collect our Kitchen Dresser. I've got to clean the place before Craig and Ros arrive and as you can imagine with walls being knocked down we have this fine layer of plaster dust everywhere! Oh! well, today's going to be a big day of cleaning and washing etc. I hope all goes well with your clean-out.
I like PSSSST's idea and everyone's comments. There are some wonderful ladies on this site!
I was thinking offer it to your local Church Op Shops (if you have them in Georgia). As the old saying goes "One man's trash is a another man's treasure".
Love and blessings to you Chris
I hope it all works out for you. I know you have been very unhappy after your move. Make sure you keep enough of things you enjoy doing. Hugs Angie
Take care of yourself first. Don't over do it. Have a wonderful day.
Hi! I'm sure that local church groups, womens clubs, youth camps would love to have whatever bits and pieces you don't need for craft projects this summer. We often forget these very worthwhile organizations. You might also try any local sewing/quilt/embroidery shops and ask them if they know of any charitable organizations that could use your discarded material. Hope this helps.
Joan
Another flower for you today. Maybe going through some of your hidden treasures, you'll get some new and fresh inspirations that will be uplifting for your spirits. Have the Best Day you can make out of it! ~Rita
Hi Linda here the weather is really summer now! hope you will have a great week too!don't overdo that cleaning!
Hi there
Its blistering hot here in England so come in to cool down and all I hear is throw this out and that out, not me if you throw it away today you will need it tomorrow.
So bear this in mine with all your throwing out.
Bye for now Love all you cuties going back to bake in the sun
Till I need another cool down
Good morning to you too! I am like you, with all these cuties remodeling I have the fever! Hoping you will be able to move back home soon! Big Hug Kim
Maybe after you have the yard sale you should bundle everything you have left into groups take pictures of it and see if anyone here is interested in buying it. Like usps says "if it fits it ships for $4.95"
I for one would be interested in seeing what you have because I can not make it to your yard sale. It would be a shame to trash your treasures.
The next best idea I have is call around to the local boys/girls club and see if they are interested in any craft items that you could donate. It is tax deductible and those organizations usually can not afford craft items. I think giving a child a craft gives them goals and dreams. When they create something they acquire a respect for property. You could even volunteer there to help the kids make things and it would be so rewarding for you.
Good morning my dear Linda. Sounds as though you have a big day planned. Please don't overdo. It's somewhat cooler here in Al. also & I'm headed outside to get some yardwork done. Have a fantastic day & it was great talking with you on the phone. Much love/Lillian *
I think you are wonderful to think of the future and to remember your friends. I know it is hard to have to whittle down your beloved 'stuff', I have to do it every 1-3 years due to being moved around the country by the government. Even if you are not sewing/crafting, keep up with us. We don't want to lose you.
well good for you, just think when you finish getting rid of all the stuff you don't want and move back home then you can GET MORE STUFF!! Glad you're finally going home, good luck and have fun.....
Good morning, Karen! When and if I ever get back home, I might be able to afford to buy some new stuff!!!!! Just my lot rent up here is half of my disability check. That does not even leave enough for me to pay the utilities. It has been hard. It will be nice to get back home so I can spend some time with my only 2 aunts and their families. They are getting old also and my Dad's youngest sister, 76 now, took over as my surrogate Mama when mine passed away when I was 45. We talk several times a week but her son that is Brian's age has just found out he has cancer and has been having treatments for several weeks now. She needs me now, instead of the other way around! She may be 76 but you would think she was very much younger if you were around her. She goes just like she did when she was 25.
I live in Barnwell SC throw your trash my way! LOL
It is not trash if you are a sewer, crafter, or a painter of any kind. It is just stuff that that I am no longer able to get around to doing anymore. I am going with a yard sale to start with and I guess I will donate or give away what does not sell. My body is old and tired and I hurt all the time. I just really do not feel like dealing with "the crafty stuff" much more. I am still trying to decide if I want to sell one or more of my embroidery machines but I am leaning toward keeping them for awhile. When I get back home, My best friend since high school just may want to keep a machine, if I wiil donate some lessons. Glenda is 1 day older than I am so she is no longer into her crafts as much either! She does/did the most beautiful hand XXXstitch pieces I have ever seen plus she sews alot. After I started painting wood crafts, she got involved in that but she has lost interest in that now. Strange thing is, she also has arthritis but not nearly as bad as mine. I am 63 and have been fighting it for more than 18 yrs. I can no longer get around without help. I use a walker when I can and I have a scooter but am not able to get it out of the house to use it. My ramp that was promised before I ever moved has not been built. My son got married into a ready made family and all his time goes to His wife's grown and married daughters, their partners, and their children plus he also looks after his MIL who is in very bad shape. She does not have long left. That IS a sad situation! He has forgotten, for the most part that I am even up here.
We are practically neighbors!! LOL I live in
Macon, not far away. Sorry to hear you are needing to get rid of your treasured items, and of your physical problems. Life gets tough at times, but we have to keep a positive attitude whenever possible to keep going! Should you decide to sell any of your embroidery machines, I will drive the distance to check them out to buy. Who can't use another embroidery machine?? LOL I will
give you my email address; just let me know. Check your messages for my email.
I understand completely your disillusionment with life in general, and wanting to give up on your crafts, but often its creativity that
brightens our spirit and makes each day better. Best wishes are sent your way. Let me know if I can help you in any way. Atlanta is not so far away for me to drive.
