I do hand needle felted landscapes and the other day i decided to embroider a small naked tree into the picture but how to position it so that it would be embroidered just where i wanted it, I had an idea on how to use the baste stitch on my phaff creative machine.
Hoop up with WSF, then select your design. hit the baste button and the machine will place a baste stitch around where the embroidered design will be sewn out onto the WSF.
Now i have a " placement line " I can position my picture in such a way that the embroidery design will be sewn out just where I want it to go. I tape down he corners of my picture and then hit the baste stitch button once more. this secures my picture to the WSF and i can now continue to complete the embroidered design.
this method will work in so many ways and is a simple way to achieve neat work try placeing a corner of a handkerchief so that the corner is fitted into the corner of the baste stitch . tape the handkerchief down and sew the base line again. TRY NOT TO CATCH THE HANDKERCHIEF CORNER, turn the corner back so that the lace corner just catches the folded edge and will sew out on the WSF. you can gently cut away excess once it has been completed this way the lace corner is sewn on the edge of he handkerchief and just on the fabric itself .
a simple monogram could be done this way but this time leave the fabric lieing down.
i hope this will help you
