design I want to put in the corners( not a one colour monogram) and don't want it to be too stiff. Also do you change the bobbin colours to match? Thanks a bunch!

Nadyne, I don't know why you could use WSS on the top &/or bottom of your napkins. I would use the same color on top and in the bobbin, but if you like the idea of using the same color as the napkin as you stated, that would be just fine. We hope to see your napkins in the project section soon. *4U

I will try and see how it works..just wondered if anyone else had done it..might save me some grief..hehe! Don't know about posting a picture though...first I'm not sure how, and second, if I could figure it out I would have to locate a camera! You never know though!
Love your new avatar!
Hugs and thanks, Nadyne

Nadine, Maryjo answered your question, I'd just add to make a cross-hair on your stabilizer and line up your design on it and WRITE down what measurement you come up with so when you have to stop in the middle of making the napkins, you can come back and remember what you were doing....(yep, I'm guilty!)

Thanks, actually I was thinking of using it instead of cut away or tear away ??? on the back...any ideas on that one?

If the design contains no lettering and you want it to look pretty much the same on both sides(reversible), I'd change the bobbin to match the top thread. Otherwise I'd use bobbin thread the color of the napkin so it would not be as obvious on the back. Also the topping is not neccessary on most woven fabric napkins. Good luck!

I really like the idea of the bobbin thread to match the napkin, otherwise so many changes for something so small!
I was not too clear I guess..I was thinking of wss on the back instead of tear or cut away. Thanks.

Sorry I misunderstood your question. Certainly you can use WSS as the primary stabilizer. But...I did 27 hankies for my nieces wedding. She had a red rose in the corner. Using my smallest hoop I hooped just the hankie, no stabilizer, angled the design to the corner of the hoop as close as I could get and stitched away. Once I got the first one lined up it was easy to line up the rest. 2 color design and I matched the bobbin to make it reversible so lots of thread changes, But I will always be Lizzy's favorite Aunt from now on!!!!
