Sorry, won't upload all at once. Must be this operator Lol
My blocks for quilts. We are posting out by end of this week, from S.Africa.
I see these amazing projects squares here. Can u explain to me what/why/who/ they're for? I'm relatively new here.
TIA, Starlet
Am sending these out today....pics not very good, need to fire the photographer (dh) but won't as I kinda like having him around. Blessing to all.

Everone has chosen such beautiful designs! I get excited to see them and to say "Hey I'm sure I have that same design" for some. Then I spend a whole day trying to find it amongst the thousands that I have in my growing collection. All thanks to CUTE.
Can't wait to see the lovely quilts.
From Bev
P.S. (I'm dreaming about the one I'm going to get.So please Keep On Stitching )
What size do you want the blocks cut to, and could you post again, the address where we send the designs? Mine are finished and read to post. Thanks
Here are the other two, sorry my camera is not so good, very old, I have to buy me a new one.
Sigrun, I LOVE that pineapple. Where did you get it from? Is it your design? Beautiful Work... Thanks...Terre
Thank you, no not mine, I got it from Pfaff it is pack nr.376 Tropical Paradise.
Here are my three squares, posted off to the USA today (August 5th) - not the best of photos, the top two are straight off the hoop, unpressed, and aren't really anywhere near as creased as they look! (Shadows from the window, should have moved them!) All three are my own designs, done specially for these quilts. The flower is my county flower, the white rose which has been the emblem of Yorkshire since at least the 1300's; the bird is the European Robin, voted England's national bird in 1960, and the fish are some of the Japanese Koi in my garden pond!
Dianne these are just beautifuk are they your designs I love the fish they are so cute the bird is out standihg
Hugs Lena Mae
Yes, they're all my designs - that way I knew there'd be no risk of me duplicating anyone's choices!
Congratulations Dianne, they are charming their embroideries! Pretty! Pretty!
Your designs are lovely, Dianne, and unique. The robin is so pretty, as are the fish, but my favorite is the Yorkshire rose.
I, too, made my own designs - at least 3, the 4th is a variation on a freebie - and for the same reason: no chance of a duplicate.
I sent my blocks today August 4. Table cloth shines through except where I put a white paper underneath.
You all have done so much better than I have....I just finished last week picking my designs and putting my name on them....I kept making designs and bringing them up in Pulse Ambassodor and they would be over 4x4, so I would start again....I'm finally ready to stitch.....Yeah!....can't wait to see the finished quilts........Janet
Here's my contribution to Yoriko's quilt. Have yet to pick a bird and a flower.
Hi All'
This is my 2nd Block for project - bird
Hugs Yvonne
Hello Deanna,
Here are my choices.
I wanted to use my own designs, but the bird is an EmbLibrary one where I changed the colours to represent the Dutch flag.
1. My take on Y's old avatar
2. When you think of Holland you think tulips, here they are in the colours of the Dutch flag (I know there are no blue tulips...)
3. The bird, sorry I forgot to rotate the image
4. You know what this is for. The red bauble is fringe.
Have yet to stitch out 1 and 3 as I have to buy white (you should see my stash and no white!!).
Here is mine for Yoriko, I´ll put the others soon as I have stitched them out.
This quilt is going to be wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flowers to everybody.
My three contributions, ready to post Monday. had to change flower, daisies did not fit in hoop required.
Mnay gracious thank yous to Meganne for the lettering.
Helen
The owl is just gorgeous! Would you mind sharing with us where you got the design. I have collected owl's for more than 40 years but not so much anymore, but this one is outstanding! I would love to do this one for my son and his wife and they have a special event coming up very soon. Their 2nd anniversary is coming up the 19th of next month and I have got to get busy.
Here are my three....
Hugs
Linda
Ohh how pretty Linda. I'm getting more excited. Anxious to see the finished product, but I know we still have 2 more months before the deadline cut off. :)
Hi Deanna - I think I've found how to get the pictures to you after all :}
These are the stitchouts. If they are not suitable please let me know so I can do something else.
AlmaG.
These are great - as long as they fit inside a 4x4 frame - they will work wonderfully. Good choices and lovely work.
Alma, I love the Japanese lady. She is beautiful. Where is she from? You do beautiful work.!
Thankyou so much for the encouragement from all you ladies. The Japanese Lady is a design from EmbLibrary No. 337423 and the Cherry Blossom is also from EmbLibrary No.2465903b. They do all fit in the 4x4 frame and the blocks are now trimmed to 5 1/2" square.
The Sturt's Desert Pea is the S.Aussie floral emblem and a design digitised at a local Bernina shop in Adelaide. I had permission to fiddle the leaves to fit the 4x4 frame.
The Black Swan is the W.Aussie bird emblem and a Cuties Design. The feather is a design element from BFCCreations with about 8 colour changes.
This was great fun.
The cranes For Yoriko, then whoever the lucky cuties will be , the other two are my choice :) i might add that with the bike it is on the road that leads to Australia. Thanks Meg for all your help :)))))
How adorable - I love the bike - Rick has a bike like this on one of his shirts - without the roses. Pauline, you did great - you too Meg!
These three designs are Polly' OOOOPS SORRY, Pauline's (Nonna57)three choices for the three quilts.
Of course they'll all have names etc. added but she wanted to get them up before anyone else chose them.
Sorry Polly, we ended up shopping after going to P.O. so thought I'd just put them up for you.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
Her are my 3 blocks. I will be shipping them soon. Of course the one with the Koala is for Yoriko. I hope you like them. Arlene
Arlene, those are so pretty. Did you do mylar for the flowers? I see some sparkle there. :)
Here is my three blocks. The butterfly is for Yoriko
My Bird design for 'Bird Quilt'
Now I can send the 3 off to you Deanna this week sometime. Enjoyed the fun and giving.
thanks designs were taken from Kenny's Kreations Baltimore quilt designs. I have not started it yet, like mostly everything else I have....Lynn does beautiful work. She is an Australian designer.
These birds take my breath away. I looooove birds. As it happens, my middle name is 'Bird'
Blessings, Starlet
As you can see from my blocks, I tend to go a little left of center. If any of these are too abstract just let me know and I'll redo them. It was fun searching for just the right design to express myself.
Here is my flower block. Rest will follow coming week
here are the birds that I want to embroider for the quilt of birds. I have choosen robins, because they are birds that I have in my garden. I hope that this design is suitable
Hugs Claude
Here are my 3 blocks. The camellia is the Alabama state flower/Lillian
Looking great. Well done to all - left flowers for you all - hugs Yvonne
here are my designs
I am sorry my camera is broken and does not take a good picture I can not find the charger to my good camera I am sorry they do not look good but they are quite pretty.Lena Mae
Lena, very pretty! I'm trying to picture where Siler City is. Are you in the mountains or coastal?
Well, broken camera or no, I think they look wonderful, I love the cute little bird.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
Hello deanna, here is the picture of the design that I have choosened to embroider for Yoriko.I think that she can like it.
Hugs Claude
I finally finished. Now it is alone to send to Deanna.
Still looking for the right design, Hoping it will jump out of my computer and say OH PICK ME PICK ME !!!
Finally, This is my choice for #3. Hope You like it.
This is so fun. Everyone is doing such a wonderful job. Thanks Deanna!!
Gee guys, all of these designs are just absolutely gorgeous - there are going to be some very happy recipients.
Love and blessings Chris
P.S. You are all a talented bunch! (hence the bunch of bananas and all golden for you - you're all worth 1st place - GOLD)
my three contributions the heron for our beloved cutie and the other 2 for the projects 3 & 4.
Helen
Helen these are very pretty. The owl is fantastic, looks almost real. Where did this design come from. Hugs.
I am sorry but I cannot remember where the design came from. It did stitch out beautifully tho.
RT Eule04 V4 2.pes
Name of design of owl, sorry cannot remember the website.
Helen
I don't know what I'm doing, so cross your fingers and hope this works! LOL
YIPPEE!!!!! I did it! HEY, MEGANN, aren't you proud of me? LOL My blocks turned out beautiful!
Well done!!!
See, we women can do anything we set our minds to, especially if it has to do with our crafts. LOL!!!
I'm so glad you are happy with them, I think you chose gorgeous designs.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
Does not look like you do not know what you are doing. You have done a wonderful job. They are beautiful.
I uploaded my design last night, but it must have gone to the Internets black hole. I'll try again. My apologies if it shows up somewhere else.
Some lovely designs showing up. Good work ladies.
I'm still deciding...
Here are the 3 that I will be doing -
Deanna I have also sent you a PM for your request - Hugs Yvonne
very nice. I can't wait to see this all come together. This is so exciting!
Thanks for all the comments. I have posted a picture of the stitched out of NO. 1 and No. 2 must still do the other. Hugs Yvonne
Love your colorful bird. These have always been one of me favorites. H&* Sorry Shirlene, got this in the wrong place.
Shirlene-I love you cardinal is just adorable , can you tell us where the design came from.
Here is my design for my square on the Bird Quilt:
Mary thank you. Meg, thank you - I believe it is - even though - no where in Utah can they be found - just in the South and East States.
http://www.americanmeadows.com/St... - you can click on the State & find the State Flower & Bird here.
oooo so pretty Shirlene.... Our state flower isn't pretty like that. LOL We do have some of the most BEAUTIFUL Cardinals. Now why couldn't that have been our state bird since we have an abundance of them. hum?
It isn't ours either - but it is for about 10 other states and of coarse for NC, maybe that is why SC didn't have it, too.
I had told you how much I like your bird yesterday. I guess I put it in the wrong place. I have always loved these birds. Hugs
Shirlene, I love this cardinal, can you tell us where the design came from
I just adore this precious little bird! It almost looks as if you could reach out and touch it and it would not fly away, that is if it were real.... I also love the Magnolia. I was born and raised in the south and have been surrounded by Magnolia Tree's all of my life. They are so beautiful! Magnolia's always make me think of the old huge plantations full of Magnolia Trees! We don't have so many of the plantations left in the South anymore but the one's that are left are magnificent to look at and to smell when everything is blooming.
Here is my design for my square on the ANY Flower Quilt:
Mary, thank you. Meg, it is a Magnola, I believe and not Utah's State Flower, which is a Sego Lily, actually.
So pretty. Shirlene, the leaves are a little smaller for a magnolia. I thought it was a gardenia, but I could be wrong there...
Terre, the leaves on the magnolia trees I have seen are huge. I hope that I am right - I was wanting a magnolia.
Sally, thank you.
Terre, take a look at this page - it might help:
http://www.embroideryonline.com/p...
Love the Magnolias! I tooks some pictures of my tree blooming this spring and hoping to send the pics to my sister that paints!
I hope you share a picture of them with us in personal - when you get them taken and then a picture of her painting in projects - when she gets that done, too.
Shirlene, those are beautiful. I'm just used to seeing the real southern magnolia with the bigger leaf, but these do look like the flowers. Can you smell them right now. hehehhe... Love that lemony smell...
I love your choices Shirlene ... VERY
NICE...really BEAUTIFUL!!
Hugs
Linda
I stitched out my bird block the pm. Now I'll work on the next two.
So far I have gathered that you are doing a 'BIRD' quilt and a 'FLOWER' quilt, is that correct?
Then I see animal designs here. Is there another quilt to do also? Are thread colours our own choice?
Please explain again. Want to get it correct...
Love Kerry
There is going to be a quilt for Yoriko, you can choose anything Japanese or Australian as Yoriko is proud to be both.
I think we all know how much she loves Australian Native Flowers, Birds & Wildlife, plus she obviously loves her Oriental heritage, so have fun.
The Flower and Bird quilts are surprises for yet to be named recipients, Deanna is keeping them a secret.
Hope this helps Kez.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
Great, I have just been going through my designs and sorting for all three... I love this it is so much fun....thanks Meg.
This is for Yoriko. My last one and I'll send them on with a little $help ...
Very nice, and very fitting for her. This will help her to feel the love that surrounds her.
Here is my floral.
Yippie! glad you received it. That wasn't long at all. I sent it out Sat.
I have finally chosen and finished combining the designs for my block for the Floral Quilt.
It was so difficult as there are so many gorgeous designs to choose from but I think I like this combination.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
No Sally only the text, the swan is from the Chinese site and the border was a single corner purchased from Lizanne.
I combined, copied, pasted, mirrored, rotated and basically really enjoyed putting this all together to make something special. I have no idea how any of it will stitch out as the Chinese designs usually require a lot of fixing or filling in missing stitches. Time will tell.
Thanks you all for the lovely comments, I am so glad others like it too. Hugs n roses, Meganne
Okay I did it right this time. Also changed the colors to be more hummingbird looking.
I think this looks too much like the others, so I will save it and submit another bird. Sorry for the confusion.
there are several projects , so it can be used on one of those. no need to safe it!
From the looks of things I do believe these are going to be stunning quilts...
Better check out what is going on, been away for a week....so far all look fantastic...
I'm not as on the ball as the other gals. I don't have my design done, but I am planning on doing a bird from Bettys original embroideries. They are soo cute.
Hi Deanna,
Here is the block for the Bird Quilt. It is a Lorikeet that come from Australia.
Love and blessings Chris
P.S. Will post them next week Deanna.
Very nice, I did not know about this bird before. It is fun to learn new things from our "Cuties".
Try a photograph without the flash Chris, it makes all the difference.
Set your piece flat on a table in front of a window with good natural morning light, doesn't have to be sunlight, just natural light.
Hugs n love, Meg
Here is my first block. The camera doesn't take good pics so you can't see the colors well. After looking at this, I realized I made it too big and on the wrong side of fabric... hehehe... Back to the drawing board for me. Sorry.
Deanna here are my 3 in order I hope. Teehee!! Now I just need to get to the PO to send them to you. H&*.
These are the ones I have done for the quilts. Since someone else has done the humming bird one also maybe my humming bird can be used for Yoriko instead of the fancy one. Let me know if I should do another design. Thanks
These look wonderful to me. Since there are 3 quilts, I would not worry about similar designs.
I'm thinking of doing for #1
I love this design, I just embroidered it on a Green bag for shopping. The oval version is nice too.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
It's from the same website, just can't remember which site it was, Sorry.
HNR, Meg
Here is my contribution for the bird block. I will definately change the colors - something went wrong when I saved it as a jpeg file - sorry!
1.I wanted to use this plus some extra butterflies for yoriko.
2. and this one for the flower blocks
what do you think?
This will be my design for Yoriko I will also try to add some small cherry blossoms. Hugs Lisa
This is Miss Y's design Pond plant and Koi it will be done in metalic thread. The others i will let you know soon, RUth
Hey Deanna, Are we supposed to add the State as well as the Country?
HNR, Meganne
I've just managed to fit the NSW on my two designs. LOL!
I'm still having trouble choosing a floral design, it would help if I knew who it was for.
HNR, Meg
Nah, I'm into much more than just flowers so it would be way more eclectic. LOL!!!
Every time I see another set of designs, I think I'd like a quilt out of them, so far I have made over a hundred quilts for me, in my head of course.
Actually I don't have a quilt or bedspread on my bed right now as my previous (Lace) bedspread was over 30 years old and it just wore out.
The dog will get several years out of it. LOL!!!
Hugs n roses, Meg
Hi Deanna,
1. bird with the gumnuts is for Ms Y...sorry about the jump stitches.
2. Other bird for the bird quilt
If you feel the need to swap them that's ok. I am having trouble finding a flower design so will continue looking for now and post later. Hugs Sally
Hiya, these are my suggested contributions. Are they okay and I probably will change the colors.
Thanks.
Fiona
ps: I had chosen a bird design but I see it has been done. Will find another one today!
Still looking for designs for projects - will post once I have them - Hugs Yvonne
Here's my sqs. Sorry it's a jpeg of the whole MS Paint page!! But don't know any other way to do it!
1-bird 2-flower and 3-Japan fan
How beautiful Gerry... I thought you were going to do one of the hummingbirds? I didn't mean to take it from you...
Is the Toucans chest solid stitching? I was thinking it would look great with Mylar underneath if it wasn't filled with stitches.
HNR, Meganne
Meganne, it's a Jacobean design & it doesn't have any stitched under the lines on the body. Wonder if there's enough there to hold the mylar down?
thanks Shirlene, I just realized that. I'll be more careful so I don't step on any toes...lol
For the fabulous Miss Y.
Jump stitches are still showing, didn't know how to remove for this post.
Good morning Deanna,
I've just taken a photo of the designs I did yesterday:
1. Is the Giraffe (on cream fabric) for you know who Deanna
2. Is the Kangaroo for Y(on white fabric)
3. Is the Australian Wattle for Block 2 for the flower quilt.
I'm still working on a bird design - I'll do that later.
Love and blessings Chris
I love the baby Giraffe Chris, do you remember where it came from?
I understand it is not part of these three projects, but for something else.
It is absolutely gorgeous.
Of course nothing is more Aussie than a big red and a spray of wattle, well chosen. Hugs n roses, Meganne
After many hours work, I have come up with this for the birds quilt..... again subject to how well it stitches out. :-)
hugs n roses, Meganne
No Terri, but I spent so many hours (about 9) repairing, altering and colouring it, I may as well have digitised it. I did create the flowers and text though.
And even with all this work, there is still no guarantee that it will stitch out well.
HNR, M
Very nice. I hope it stitches out great for you and the quilt receiptant.
Love the bird. The colors are fantastic!! Are there birds really this beautiful color?
Yes dlmds, we have birds of the most vibrant colours here in Australia.
This one is a male Australian Blue Wren. The females are very dull brown and because he is so gorgeous he has two females called Jenny Wrens, they mate for life. We have a trio of them visit our front garden every day, I just love watching them hop and flit around all over the grass.
You can check them out here:
http://www.google.com.au/images?q...
If the link doesn't work, just Google Australian Blue Wren.
HNR, Meganne
Meganne we fave these sweet wee birds in our garden, some blue, some red, They are so cute. beautiful choice.
ooopppsss for the double post! It was too slow so I had to double click and the rest is history! LOL ;)
LOL!!! easy enough to do
LOL!!! easy enough to do.
I just realised some of the colouring is not correct, he should have brownish coloured wings and different coloured, thinner, legs, so back I go to fix my errors. :-)
The wrens sound smarter then some people. Haha!! Wow, they mate for life. I think this is amazing. It would be sad when they loose a mate. I will check them out. Thank you.
This will be for the project that is all birds.
This is my picture for project # 3. HUGGERS Lisa
This is my choice for Miss Y
How big is your design? Please remember the design can only be for 4x4 hoop so no larger than 4x4 and your square of fabric 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. Hugs Lisa
Very nice Kanji, you could even add the second row and it would still fit your 4 x 4. hugs n roses, Meganne
so very nice, love peace and hope are what Yoriko is most surely searching for,.
I'm thinking about this one for the birds blocks
I was thinking of that one too, but maybe in a different color palette...I'll reverse the bird also. Is this okay with you?
The crane is a symbol of good luck for the Japanese, so I would like to embroider one for Yoriko. my question is: do I just embroider on a piece of cotton fabric and send it to you, or do I have to quilt the piece? Will find something else for other projects and you can just use them as you see fit.
Sorry to be difficult Deanna.
Helen
All you need to do is embroider your chosen design on a piece of cotton fabric and send the block to to Deanna.
The fabric should be the colour chosen by Deanna and you should post a picture of your chosen design here, so that others will not choose the same design. Don't forget you need to embroider your name (Cute ID: Moyed) and your country on the block too.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
Here is my first block design choice, this is for Quilt no 3.
I know Miss Y loves Aussie birds and flowers and they don't come any more Aussie than these:
Bottle Brush, Wattle and a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo.
I hope you like it.
Now I only have to choose another two designs for project 4 and 5, so I'm off to search some more. :-)
Hugs n roses, Meganne
PS. I forgot to add that this choice is subject to change if the cockatoo doesn't stitch out as good as it looks.
Meganne, what material are you using? I would like to use similar material, please.
Helen
I will use a self coloured white on white cotton fabric. Similar to my previous blocks:
http://i.embpersons.com/cute/org/...
Hope this helps. HNR, Meganne
I've been searching for pretty quilt designs all morning! I just checked again and still no Pm from you with your address. Am I just not doing it right?
