These are really nice. Thank you for sharing with us and the hint. I will have to try this soon. Ruthie
Thank you all for helping to make this such a special day.
Congratulations on having your tip published. I love the look on your FSL. Your work is beautiful!!
Congrats!....Your FSL is absolutely beautiful....great job...thanks so much for the pictures.
These are beautiful. I really like the "old world" look. It looks especially well in off-white. Congratualtions.
Thank you so very much - it is a great look in the off-white - more authentic.
Great news once again for you Shirlene, but you know for some reason I have always looked upon serger/overlocker thread as a inferior or not such a good quality thread...So if any ladies here in Australia have used overlocker thread without any troubles and the FSL has turned out wonderfully please let me know...
Hugs Kerry
Congratulations Shirlene You have done a wonderful job
I will have to try this method...great tip..thanks for sharing..* 4 you my dear shirlene. OMG..those are stunning!! I just scrolled down and saw them...I absolutely love the peach colored one..that design is right up my alley!
I do hope you do try it - I am glad you like that one - it is from Advanced-Embroidery.
Congratulations Shirlene, I will remember this for when I start on fsl.
What a great tip! And the designs are beautiful. I have often thought that it would take so much thread to do lace for a little girl's dress but this idea makes it more doable and I think it will look better--as you said old world.
Thanks for sharing!
Kathy
Kathy, thank you very much - yes it would make it less expensive and more durable, as well. I hope you try it. Thanks!
Very nice work sweetie you have done a great job. Hugs Lisa
Your work is always so beautiful and elegant, thank you so much for the great tip, I'm new at embroidering and I enjoy hearing about new ways and new ideas to embroider. I've not tried fsl yet, but I'm sure I'll try it soon. Again thank you for the tip, and please keep posting your beautiful work.
Pauline, thank you so much - if I can help you in any way - get started with FSL - please don't hesitate to ask.
Cangratalations, Shirlene, yes it looks like old croket items, very lovely. I also have used the overlock thread for FSL.
Sigrun, so happy to hear that you have used it, too. You do wonderful FSL. Thanks!
Thank you Shirlene What a great tip ,still haven't tried FSL.

OH dear - what can we do - to get you started with FSL? I am sure you will enjoy it. Thanks!
Hi,
I use always overlockthread if I test a design. It's not so expensive, I buy it if I can have a big deal and use the colours I dont need or like. Only to test a design it's ok.
It looks a bit like cotton.
Good to see this posted her, thanks Shirlene.
It's a pitty that it do not work it the
opposite. Sometimes I have a special colour I want for the serger - but the embroidery thread is not strong enough.

Bärbel
Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing it with us, it is good to know that we can use serger thread for embroidery.
Marcie, thanks - give it a try and let us know - how it worked for you, too.
Congratulations dear Shirlene, you are the best, you deserve that honor.
I must confess that I do not know what is serger thread!!!
Hugs Claude
Claude, thankyou dear - it is the overlock thread or thread for the Lockmachine.
Shirlene, your work is lovely. Congratulations on having your tip published. Thanks for sharing your projects with us. Reva
OH WOW ~~~Shirlene ~~~ they're BEAUTIFUL!!!
Great tip as well...thanks!
Linda
Never thought of using serger thread. Wonder if decor serger thread will fit through the needle. Thanks Shirlene.
Congratulaions. I love your designs. Wondered why we had not seen any of your projects in a while.
Mildred, thanks dear - I have just been too busy with getting the websie up and working with Rick to share any new projects. These are all old ones and I have shared them before. Hehehe!
congratulations and I will try your tip. The lace is wonderful.
Wendy

congratulations!!you did it again, great job! you are going to be famous, lovely Lace too!
Gerry, thank you - I doubt that I will be famous - Bev has more TIPS, thank me.
Well, Miss Smarty Pants, aren't you the lucky one. LOL Good for you - no one more deserving. Hugs
Shirlene, your work is wonderful. You are so gifted.
I like them all, but love the second one. Great job and congratulations. Judy
Judy, thank you - don't know about being gifted - but I stitch out alot of lace - bound to have a good one - now and again. Thanks, that is one of my favorite ones, too!
the good news is - you can use any color - but I tend to like PEACH and cream the best for my home.
Here are some of the items - that I have stitched out with this thread:
Sally & Edith, thanks so much - hope you do try it - let us know - what you think.
Wow Shirlene, those are beautiful! They look like something my grandmother used to crochet. :) Well done!
the products look very nice.
And it is trendy - many things from our mothers or grands are now fancy again.
Nice work you did Shirlene!
Terre, Sally, and Bärbel thank you each. I know that my grandmother was with me - while I stitched most of this - just saying, "I can't believe how quick this is and they look like mine"
Shirlene: I took like to do fsl designs, however, I have never used serger thread as it is so thin. You say you use it in both bobbin and top. Any thread breakage, or must I test first to see if machine will do it for me. .....thx. Maria
Maria, I have made lots of doilies with this and the only trouble that I seem to have is the fuzz from the cotton and I just clean out my bobbin area often and check around the needle guide for fuzz. Try it on a coaster or something small.
I only know that the Brother machine does not work with other treat then their own. Only the 625 does it as far I know. I use the madeira 60 in the bobbin but don't know the other threat. Is this also in Holland for sale??
It is the tread that you use for you overlocker or whatever it is called besides serger, in your country.
That is so cool.
These are beautiful .I particularly like the one with pears . Can you please tell me what site it came from . Will certainly be trying this out , as I like doing lace . Thanks so much for this hint
doretta, that is another advanced-embroidery-designs.com design #24037
