Has anyone used stabilizer by the bolt? Interested in trying something different other than sulky or Viking. Where do you get yours?

You can get all the different stabilizers in different sized rolls or larger bolts in different widths at Allstich.
They also sell needles, thread, pre wound bobbins, bobbin thread, etc.

I hop across the border from Windsor to Detroit and head for the nearest Joannes where I buy my stabilizers. Both in rolls and by the bolt. Looking forward to the Sewing Expo in Sept in Novi. That's when I like to see the new things and get in on the promotional deals :)

I bought some from Joannes by the bolt when they had them on sale for 50% off then I used my 15% discount card I get because I am a teacher.

Bought a bolt (about 20 yds)from Hobby Lobby, but had purchased only 2 yds to see how I liked it first.
Sewstore on EBAY sells by the 10 yd also. Very economical buying in large quantities.our Wal-Marts no longer carry fabric.JoAnnes is to far for me to walk to.

I am so sad that Wal-Marts no longer carry fabric. We have one about 2 miles from home. Now I have to go so far if I want even a zipper!

Thank the Lord for Hobby Lobby! Our Wally World quit carrying also,plus Hancock Fabrics closed, and Joann's is about 45 miles away.. So I buy several yards of it from HL, but wait for the 40% coupon. :)

I have excellent results using the rolls from Floriani. Saves $ when using rolls - cut to fit the hoop, or better yet cut the stabilizer just to fit design and iron, using Heat N Sta Light Fusible Tearaway. Design HAS NO puckets because you are not stretching.

I LOVE this stuff and have been unable to obtain it at our local Jo-Anns. A small local shop had some and I have bought all they had. It was my understanding that HTC went out of business and this is not being made anymore? If anyone knows that this is for sure, that they are out of business please post.

I get mine from www.AnnaBoveEmbroidery.com . She has different kinds of stabilizers and I have found her brands to be the best, never a problem with any of them....have also found them to be easier to hoop than some other brands.

Hi , I buy my stabilizer at Fabric Land when they have a sale I stock up on it . I cut the stabilizer in half and roll it up & keep it in a plastic bags to keep clean.

i just bought several rolls of different kinds of stabilizer at the Marathon Thread booth at the AQS quilt show in Knoxville. the quilt shows have MANY different vendor booths, so i take my supply list to the show and buy in bulk..large spools of bobbin thread, stabilizers, needles by the 100 pkg and huge spools of emroidery/quilt thread that i use most often.

I love Marathon stablizers, and thread. They also sell 505 adhesive for a good price too. I am a big fan of Marathon!

I buy 10" x 100 yard roll, on ebay. $20.00 + shipping from, Threadart in Texas. I love it on the roll, can cut any size.

Sorry I didn't anwser you sooner, but we have been out all day. Their seller's name is THREADART1 on ebay. Their store name is Threadart quilting supplies. I buy from them all the time and they ship right to my door here in Canada. Hope this info helps you. Regards Lynn

Never bought by the bolt...but may look into it since I just got coupons yesterday from Joann's

I do not understand the words"by the bolt". In my dictionnary, they translate "verrou", that is something to close,
Is it a brand or another kind of stabilizer?

Bolt in the fabric world means: large amount of fabric on a roll/flat cardboard. Usually 'bolt' of fabric is about 20 yds or so, depending on the manufacturer. Most fabrics in the USA are in 'bolts', although you can buy any yardage you need and not the entire 'bolt'.

I have not bought a whole bolt, but I have been buying by the yard at WalMart. I might try using my 50% coupon at Joann's like bikermomfl said. That sounds like a good deal. Hope they send me another coupon soon. Joyce

getting JoAnn's coupons is easy. Go to one of their stores and sign up (free) for their flyer. It comes in the mail, has all the coupons you need. The 50% coupons are only available in some stores depending on geografic locations, most are 40%. Sometimes they have in-store special flyers where those 50% coupons are available. I have bought stablizer by the yd/bolt with those coupons and its a good deal. Walmart has phased out most of their fabric section of their stores. Sorry for that, since they too were a good source of fabric/notion needs.

I just ordered and received a bolt of the perforated easy stitch, I ordered it from Create For Less it is 40 yards adn with shipping it was $77.??. Took five days to get here but no one sells it around here. First time I have ordered by the bolt but I feel it a smart investment. Cause it won't ruin and it doesn't eat anything as my husband says..

JoAnn's store sell that perforated easy stich........I've gotten it there too. and with the coupons it alot cheaper than getting it on-line.

I absolutely positively buy by the bolt - always! I wait for my 40 or 50% off coupon then trot my big self down to Joanns and buy an entire bolt. It usually only costs about $20 and is worth it. I also buy mmy batting by the bolt, also my fusible by the bolt. It makes life so much simpler and when I use the coupon it isn't such a big outlay.

We get all of ours from Embroidery Scource Find there prices reasonable mostly 100 or 50 mt rolls

I am not sure what you mean by the bolt, but I purchase mine by the large roll. They have 25 or more yards on a roll. I love them because they last much longer between purchases. It does mean a larger outlay of money though. I bought mine at the shop I went to in Baker, Floriday called Ruthies Notions. Google it if you are interested. I know that the shop will mail out items when requested.

Most fabric stores sell fabric/stablizer by the 'bolt'. They are about 20 yds +/- depending on the manufacture of the stablizer. Sometimes JoAnn's has their stablizer on sale 1/2 priced. A great deal. Sign up for their flyer (free) and it comes in the mail. Then you can plan your trip for the product and know when it will be on sale or not. You can always 'special order' your stablizer if they run out of it and still get the coupon savings too.

Nope, but I was thinking about buying a bolt or large roll of crib size batting. I bought alot of material when our Walmart closed out their fabric. I want to make lap or crib quilts for donating to Children's Hospital

Postage to Australia is quite daunting but it is still cheaper than buying in Australia.

I buy it at Joanne's, by the yard (off the bolt) I don't know the brand name--stabilizer is stabilizer.

I have bought from several online - but like getting a roll of it - not a bolt.

Funny you should ask that. My daughter and I were talking about that today. I don't buy by the bolt, but she does, because of the Irish Dance dresses she makes. She said that she has to go on line and gets them from Canada somewhere. I could find out for you if you are interested.

Carolyn, I spoke with my daughter and she said she get it from Irish Threads on line. She uses Vilene, but they do have other stablizers. The Vilene is 45" wide and 6.00 yd. Quite a price but you are receiving a lot of fabric also. Check out the website and see what their other prices are on stablizers.
