Here is the rar program I use to open the files. It is free and it works fine. Don't do anything else ont the site. It tells you to check for windows errors before downloading the rar program but don't do it. Just download the rar program.
Hope this helps
The rar files are large files normanly sent by U-send it, if you have the Embird progran it will unzip it. that is what I use
I open rar files with my embird program , either take the art file from the file or pes , and V5 converts it to what you want , I have had my 830 for about 16months now and just love it the things it can do are mind boggling . Happy sewing .
i am supposed to go to my bernina dealer monday and buy an 830. i have a 730 now with tons of expensive .ART designs. what format does the 830 use? and how difficult is it to use designer plus?
rar files are just like zip files.
They are both zipped.
You have to open or unzip the rar file to extract the designs files from inside.
So inside the rar zip file should be designs in design formats such as pes, hus, vip, etc.
So you have to open the rar and extract the design files.
Then you could convert the design file format to any other format you want.

Sure, just download www.Pulse Ambassador.com, easy and very quick, also check out the alphabets they have. Software also puts the Icon on your desktop. It is fast and easy to convert rar files to exp.
You have an 830? Wooo...Cool! That machine is huge! I have a lowly 640 but I love it.
rar files are archives just like zipped files - it's not an embroidery format - you have to open them first then convert to exp if that is not included. Google WINrar and you might find a free download.
Mops is right. You need to open the file first to get the embroidery file
