I love reading the answers and learning.....I bought some iron on polymesh to try on a T-shirt....hope it works.....and now on to some gardening.
Polymesh Cut-a-Way will not distort your fabric. I use it a lot with blends of cotton/poly on tee shirts. Don't forget the topping.
I found this picture on Designs by Sick, just FYI. Don't know how many of you know Sick sells stabilizers, too, both in USA and Canada, so there's no shipping problems in either country. Hugs, Marji
Monica, regular cut-away stabilizer looks like kind of a thin piece of felt, it's meant to hold high stitch counts, and it's kind of 'stiff', creases when you bend it. The poly-mesh cut-away will look more like a wash-away, it's thinner, kind of 'drapey', you can actually see thru it a little. It's meant to still be strong enough to hold pretty high stitch counts, although just personally I don't think as high as the regular cut-away. But if you were doing something like a blouse, where the regular cut away would give you kind of a stiff spot under your embroidery, the poly mesh would be much softer, less likely to show thru, be softer against the skin, etc. Hope this helps, hugs, Marji
Thanks Marji. I've not seen any, but thought that was what the polymesh was, you just explained it better than I did. Thanks for sharing. This was a great question.!
Don't know for sure, but my guess is polymesh, is a mesh made from polyester maybe less fibers, possibly more breathable, where as the regular cut away isn't a mesh but more of a fiber fabric type of stablizer. this is a great question and hope some one can clear it up.
Thanks KOS...I've had a battle in my mind over this and said hey, I could have asked the CUTIES ;D *2U
