Dear Jerrilyn

WOW that was beautifully done!

In Australia seatbelts are compulsory and if you don't wear one you get fined. I like Terre (keeponsewing) don't drive out of my property without it on. It's the first thing I do once seated in my car. I've done it always.

I do hope other countries can make it compulsory also - life changes in a microsecond once involved in a car accident. Life is too precious.

Love and blessings Chris

P.S. I even have a seat belt for our beloved Sheltie Bella.

me, too, Chris. My Dad made us wear set belts back in the 60's and I feel almost naked without one on!

My Sheltie Jamie has a seat belt, too, Chris, just like the one in the picture! Hugs, M

Peaceful with the family together; I find another one on youtube that is harder but maybe makes some people grateful to have a seat belt.
How often people laughed at me more than 20 years ago because I put the seat belt on although I was sitting on the back seat (and they still thought it isn't "cool" when it was mandatory)

I started wearing my seatbelt back in the mid 70's when I lived in Norway...(across the lap at that time.) Now I don't back out of my driveway with out my seat belt. Unfortunately my mother can't wear one because she has a monitor right below her right shoulder inside of her, which is bothersome. I've told her to put it across and then bring her right arm out. This at least makes me feel safer for her... Thanks for sharing.

In some places if you get stopped and are wearing your seatbelt the way you have your mother wear it you can still get fined for improper seat belt. But if her Doctor gives her a note then it would be legal.
That's what my mother had to do as during her last years before she passed away she was not able to wear a seat belt at all and had a Dr.'s certificate (or whatever was needed) to not wear one.

Thank you for sharing this - I saw this a couple months ago and sent it to my Granddaughter she and some friends are going to put on a skit for their peer group - I love that she liked it enough to want to share it in that way, too.

When I was in elementary school my parents were already making us wear seat belts. My mom had me and my 4 sisters in the car and we had an accident on the freeway. Our VW bus rolled over down a hill. My younger sister hated wearing seat belts so she would loosen hers a lot. When we crashed my older sister held on to her (I'm surprised that worked and I wouldn't suggest it). My mom had a scratch on her face and we were shaken up but no one was hurt. Needless to say, I am a firm believer in seat belts!
