has a large disk and a small disk you use to hold the spool of thread on the little post. Well you use the little one for small spools and the big one for large spools (duh) to hold your thread on the spool and to keep it unwinding smoothly. Well I had a a fit - couldn't find my small cap, crawled around on my hands and knees (not good with a bad back) for almost a week. Blamed the cats, cleaned up a bunch of dust bunnies while on the floor , blamed the cats again, cussed and fussed and pouted. The decided 'poo on it' and went to use the extra large cover spool. Went to put it on the little post and guess what - that silly little cover was right there on the spool, hidden under the large one. Of course I had to laugh but did get a good cleanup out of it. This getting old ain't easy! (giggle)

That's so funny....I think we all have done this with something we've misplaced....I find it amazing how many times I will look in the same places I've already looked.....I wouldn't mind the getting older if it wasn't for the wrinkles.

I have my tiny curved scissors attached to my sewing machine cord via a lanyard. Same with the cleaning bristle brush -I think I now need to add one for the curved tweezers that I'm missing right now :)
Nice we're not alone!

Great to see this sort of thing happening - I do it all the time! I usually also find them when I've purchased a new item - never mind it's always good to have 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6!!!!!! extra items that we thought we'd misplaced.

Ask me how I know! hahahahaha!

Love being part of this "mad" community!

Getting old is not for the faint of heart!!! This story reminds me of the lady I work for. She used to misplace a customers notes and would use that as an excuse to clean up the shop!!

Love this picture - Shirlene - look at her boobs!

I know how frustrating finding things are these days - could it be that we are just a bit more tidier than we used to be! or maybe just more forgetful with "oldtimer's disease!!! ha ha he he!

Aren't you glad to know that you're not the only one who has done that! LOL My cats and dogs gang up on me, cats knock things off my sewing table and the dogs take them outside and chew them up! I always check there first whenever something is missing!

Forgot to mention, I had, notice I said HAD, a loose key on my laptop, that kept falling off.
I spent days crawling around, on hands and knees, searching for that blasted little piece of plastic. I found it when I decided to vacuum the lounge-room, and of course anything that rattles up the vacuum tube requires instant investigation, and there it was, chewed up almost beyond recognition, and definitely beyond ever using again.
Can't drop anything on the floor here without it being pounced on by..........
you guessed it.......

THAT BLOODY DOG!!!!! hahahahahahaha!!!!

So, did you apologize to your cats after all this? We must be related, I do these sorts of things all the time. Usually I blame it all on being over 50, and having a spacey brain.

Been there and done that also. We ladies at church kid and say we need to hang out with people our age, that way we don't notice it so much when we can't remember from one minute to the next. We have one sweet gal the age of 32 that says she likes to hang out with older people. Guess we are good for a laugh. Oh well, everyday we have is another day to laugh and enjoy life. Judy

Had things just like that happen here! My things usually end up falling off the little desk I use and I have bags of tea towels under it so I go through all the bags looking for my little scissors, spool holders, tweezers, you name it. I have never blamed the cats though, my little angels would never mess with my stuff, yeah right! *4U

Been there and done that many times it almost makes you mad at yourself. And you sure hate to tell your family it was right where you put it. I guess we all have a little CRS (Can't remember stuff) as my husband says. Have a good day everybody.

I did that for my favorite seam ripper, searched and searched and figured someone took it, got mad, pouted, gave up and started looking to purchase another and then pop it ws there LOL So don't feel bad you are not alone, just funny how frustrating it is when our favorite things grow legs walk and then find there way home LOL

I knew I had some .when I got home I put the eyes in a drawer to make sure I would not loose them and guess what thare sat the ones I was looking for. I think we all do some thing silly once in a while like looking for glasses when you already had them on , turning on a light you already had on.heheheehe
