I have it but have not really had time to use it. it is a full program but with the Dl version you do not get the video's they only come when you order the disc. they have a yahoo group that the developers are the moderators of and they give a lot of help. I also have embroidery magic 2 and haven't had time to learn either but figure they are a start for learning for me.

I downloaded Stitch Era for my husband to use, but when I found out you have to be on line to use it that put an end to it.....we have dial-up and it's just to slow to attempt anything like this.

Mary - If the version you DL'd is the same as what I saw today then you must be on-line and connected to the internet in order to open the Stitch Era app. I spoke to one of their Instructors today, and she said the free version is the whole app, but it has a limit of 40K stitches per design. If you want to use the application off-line, you need to purchase the higher version with the dongle (somewhere around $1,000).

I have not used Stitch Era, but saw the demo today. I was told that it is not easy to learn unless you already know something about embroidery software.

Hope this helps to answer your question.

I am nos smart wnough to digitize any design but I can resize some designs that are under 40,000 stitches, do some writing, etc. but it is not really free it is 14.95 and if you want the one that can do everything is its $1500.00. I am happy with mine. Not very good for converting designs.

Yes, I have used stitch Era Universal (SEU). Since it is the only digitizing software I have tried, I have nothing to compare it to. I have noticed, however, that a couple items on the menu are only available in the purchased version.

I have used it to digitize a few designs with excellent results, IMHO.
