My daughter asked me to do an oil painting of a beach scene as a gift for my grandson and his bride. She wanted their names written in the sand. This was dispslayed at the luau this evening. It has been some time since I have painted, and just about forgot how to do it. But, the beach has a special meaning for the kids. A trip to the beach was their first date, and he proposed to her on the beach, so that is why it was chosen for them. This is certainly not one of my better paintings, and I think that I need to go back for some refresher classes. I also forgot how messy it was to do. LOL Those of you that don't know Florida well - our beaches are very flat, and are mostly sand with little vegetation.

Beth, this is breath taking - I love it - it does so remind me of a visit to Florida - when I took my then young son to visit with my Mother - when she lived in Port Charlotte - we went to the beach a bunch of times. So happy that you were able to fit this in your schedule to do for the bride & groom. What did Bradley say about it?

Bradley asked me when I painted that one. He used to watch me paint when he was very small and we would have "Gramma" day. He actually is a very talented graphic style artist, or he was. I don't know if he has been doing much since being in the Air Force.
