Has anyone used Insul-Bright? Does it really work? Have you used it for potholders? Maybe someone has used it for cold, like lunch bags? Is it worth the trouble? I appreciate your comments.

Thank you everyone, who took the time to read and/or respond. Your replies have been very helpful to me. I appreciate all your help. Insul-Bright is very cheap and I was worried I might spend time and effort using it to only then find out it didn't work. I am glad I had the chance to hear from you all first-hand. Auntie

I have some that I ordered online a few months ago but haven't gotten around to using it yet! I'm planning to make potholders out of my stitch-outs for Christmas presents. I have so many people to make things for I'll probably never get it all done! Oh, woe is me! LOL

Auntie, thank you for this question. What I wonder is if one uses Insul-bright do you also need the ironing board fabric? H&*

Thanks for taking the time to contribute, dlmds. No one has mentioned having to use anything else with it, so, I am just going to use it alone.

YES YES YES it is worth it. I have made pot holders galore and lunch bags with it . It keeps the hot off your hands and the cold in the bags. My opinion don't do it without! Suzanne

Yes I have used it as well along with the ironing board fabric for pot holders..The teflon fabric as it is known..It was suggested on Emblibrary for making their ITH potholders and works great too..*4u

Yes auntie, I use it in my food carriers & in potholders. It helps keep either cold or hot food & keeps you from feeling the heat with a potholder. *

Hi Auntie- Yes, it is worth trying. It works, very well. I have used Insul-Bright for both Potholders and Oven Mitts and love the results. Depending on the type of fabric you use for the top layer and lining, it might feel "thin" to you. But that special heat resistant layer in it works great. Hope this helps.
