I am probably going to have to change machines to one that will automatically cut the jump stitches. My vision is getting so it is harder to cut them by hand so I was wondering what machines have this feature and if you like the machine in general.

Hi I had a babylock Elegante and traded it up for a Babylock Ellissimo. I simply love them. I love all their features too. Hurry to a dealer and get a demo and you will be sold too. It is worth it I also enjoy the camera feature and the self threader. Suzanne

my advice to you , run to the nearest babylock dealer and get one, yes i just love mine, i have an esante, it does so much you just can't emagine. cuts the thread, and threads it back up, with little effort, i to have eyes that are getting bad, can't do much without this wonderful machine, dosen't everyone feel that way about theirs? good luck to you.

I know you didn't ask about the Janome machines, but I thought that I'd share this anyway... I have a Janome 11000 that has been upgraded to the special edition and it cuts the jump stitches plus it cuts the threads after a color is done stitching. I absolutely love the machine.

I did not ask about Janome but know lots of folks do like them and may have to take another look. Thanks for your reply.

Great question. My daughter has the 4000D brother and it does cut jump threads and auto threader. My is the 1500d Brother and it is auto threader and cuts threads after each change of thread. If I knew what I do now, I would have gone with one a little bit more advanced, but I'm happy with what I have. All the best trying to decide.

I have sewn on a Brother at a school with the auto cutter, I also have a Viking with the auto cutter. IF you like the back side to look nice, you need to cut them yourself. Those little thread tails have to go somewhere! I don't use it if I want the back to look nice. I THINK all the upper range Viking have auto jump stitch cutter.

Thanks for your reply - know you have all those machines going at once too!

not as often as you might think - that I have both of them on at the same time.

I have 3 Brother machines. PC8500, Innovis2500D and the Innovis 900D which I take to classes. All 3 cut the threads and I love these machines. I have never had a bit of trouble with any of them, they are real work horses. I don' think you can go wrong with a Brother but I would make sure my dealer was close just in case.

I have a babylock Elegante. It threads the needle fine and can be set to cut jump stitches. When it sews it sews fine but it has been in the shop 5 times in the last 4 years. I am not a happy camper.
