You can buy the designs from brother but you can only stitch that on things for our personal use. So it just helps you if the baby quilt is a present. Apart from that you can make a swap with the person who asked you for that favor maybe she/ he has some abilities that you haven't (gardening par example).

Brother is the only machine that can sew them legally and you can only buy them from Brother dealer. I did see where they came out with a way to purchase individual designs tho - so you don't have to buy a whole card if you only need a few. There are other illegal designs (besides the russian site - like on eBay) out there but they are all still illegal.

And when you buy either the Brother machines that have them built in or the extra cards, you still are not allowed to sew them on items for sale - strictly personal use only (as I found out when I bought my Brother 190D).

Just a reminder about the designs that you purchase, you can not embroider the design and sell the item that has been embroidered. I would hate to see you do everything correct by only purchasing the designs at an authorized dealer and then maybe get into trouble for then selling the item you made.

Good that you are hunting for them legally, but what a pity that they want to stick with the same old same old thing and not try some new stuff -there are so many nice designs out there that haven't been used so many times already! I enjoy seeing things a little 'different'!

It's true, Brother is the one that has legal Disney designs. You can buy the cards or they come on some of the machines.
I believe All Brands is a dealer that you can order through. You could compare prices with your local dealer too.
Needleworkru is most likely selling illegally.

This is so sad for me, because I have a Bernina machine, and my daughter works for Disney. :(

Yes I have those, but sad to say not able to use them. Don't want to get into trouble for doing something illegal.

Yes, and they don't have a license so it's illegal to download them, let alone use them.

Thank you for your suggestions. I will give them a try. Hopefully I can find something for her.

The only legal ones are on design cards put out by brother. In NZ we can get them through our brother dealers. Allbrands is a US website that has them listed but I've never dealt with them - just looked and drooled :)

Go to the Brother website and see if there are any there. I saw their link in freebies not too long ago, like yesterday or something.

I THINK Winnie is a Disney lic. product. If so, there is only one machine that has them...Brother. Might check with a Brother dealer & see if they have any that you can use, convert to your format. Hopefully someone will have a better answer.
